The concept is reflected in the details, such as in the Castle-like architecture, the embellished furniture, and the colorful patterns in their walls.
Staying here is like being inside a mini-museum, as there are antique pieces, glass stained windows, and spiral staircases. It’s easy to turn your trip into a photography session.
Not to mention, the owners of Thorngrove will be more than delighted to guide you through every display. Their stories about the history of each item made me appreciate the amount of effort and detail needed to build the Manor piece by piece.
Pro tip: They only have six rooms, so book a reservation months ahead of your visit.

With over 50 rooms, they will likely have room for you even if you book close to your visiting date. In my experience, I was still able to get a room a week before the start of Chardonnay May.
Additionally, The Manna is conveniently located for easy accessibility to everything in Hahndorf. During my stay, I easily reached popular pubs and inns within 10-minutes of walking.
Pro tip: Feeling too full after a meal? Simply walk off your meal at Hahndorf. The charming German settlement has plenty of sensory delights to rejuvenate you.

It’s also conveniently located near various tourist spots in the Adelaide Hills, such as the Stirling Golf Course, Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens, and the Heysen Trail.
There is plenty of outdoor walking space too, making it great if you want to unwind. I found my stay here to be very relaxing; I particularly enjoyed sipping iced tea while lounging by the lawn.
Pro tip: The pool isn’t always accessible during weekdays because they conduct physio classes there. Take the time instead to visit the tourist spots near the accommodation.
