Pros

  • Multiple branches in Australia
  • Offers a wide variety of services
  • Offers price matching
  • Wide variety of products are available
  • Open 7 days a week

Cons

  • Customer service needs improvement
  • Few cases of faulty stereo installation

With over 135 stores throughout the country, Autobarn has solidified itself as one of Australia’s top car stereo installation shops.

Among their branches, their Churchill branch is the perfect go-to place for Adelaideans seeking a new stereo unit.

The shop offers a wide variety of services and products aside from stereo installation. They also fit headlights, wipers, roof racks, batteries, and more.

What stood out to us about this shop is that they offer price matching. All you have to do is present an advertisement for an identical unit from a competitor, and the shop will match their price after verifying.

This is beneficial for customers who find cheaper products from other stores but don’t trust their skills in installing the stereo unit.

We also love that they’re open 7 days a week, allowing customers to come over anytime convenient for them.

As for the factors we thought were lacking, we were pretty disappointed with their customer service and the few instances of faulty installation.

There are times when there are no staff members to assist customers, leaving them lost and confused. A greeting when the customer arrives would be nice to acknowledge their presence.

It’s also better to politely ask customers to wait for a few minutes if there’s not enough staff in the store instead of not going up to them at all.

Some customers also complained about receiving faulty installations from the shop, so the clients had to come back and had them redo the work.

Pros

  • 15 years of experience
  • Reasonable price
  • Wide variety of stereos available
  • Convenient location

Cons

  • Customer service can be improved
  • Communication system can be improved

Located less than 10 minutes away from CBD, the Ministry of Bass offers a wide variety of stereo units for your car.

They have products from a vast range of brands like Alpine, Kenwood, and Sony, so you will most likely find what you’re looking for if you pay them a visit.

The shop has been in business for over 15 years, so you can rest assured that they have enough experience and knowledge about installing stereo units.

What impressed us about this shop is how reasonable their pricing is. They charge an amount that matches the quality of work they provide.

Their quotes are also often around the same range as other shops in the area, so you don’t have to worry about them overcharging you.

We just hope they can improve their customer service and communication system.

Some staff members are rude and passive-aggressive towards customers, making the entire experience frustrating. Many former customers have also complained about the attitude of these members.

There are also instances when they’re hard to contact or don’t call back for quotes, so customers don’t know if they’ll push through with the service.

Pros

  • Nearly 40 years of experience
  • Wide variety of stereo available
  • Wide range of services
  • Provides installation services to other types of vehicles
  • Convenient location
  • Excellent customer service

Cons

  • Can be expensive
  • Closed on Sunday

If you’re the type to value experience over anything, then Tonkin’s In-Car Solutions is your best bet.

Tonkin’s have been in the in-car solution industry for nearly 40 years, so they have enough experience and skills with almost all sorts of cars and stereo.

What we love about this shop is their excellent customer service. They assist customers in choosing the correct stereo and take their time to explain how to use the new unit and how it works.

We also love how extensive their services are. Aside from stereo installation, they also install UHF, brake controllers, reverse cameras, and more.

They also offer installation to not just cars but also 4WDs, trucks, motorhomes, and caravans.

However, their price range can be expensive, so prepare to spend some bucks.

Fortunately, many former clients think the quality of the job is worth the price.

They’re also closed on Sundays and close early on Saturdays, so your only option is to go on weekdays or early on Saturdays.

On the bright side, the shop is just 5 minutes away from CBD, so going on a weekday won’t be that inconvenient.

Pros

  • Excellent customer service
  • Knowledgeable staff
  • Wide variety of stereo unit brands
  • Member of Car Audio Masters

Cons

  • Some faulty installations
  • Closed on Sunday

For anyone looking for a one-stop in-car solution shop, SA Auto Installs is one place you shouldn’t ignore.

They install almost every in-car system you need for a smooth ride, like car stereos, audio and visual, amplifiers, speakers, subwoofers, dash cameras, car alarms, and more. This means you don’t have to go shop to shop to get everything you need.

Perhaps the best advantage they have over other shops is that they are members of Car Audio Masters, which means all their installations are covered with a lifetime guarantee.

We were also impressed with their customer service. They take time to give you advice on what’s best for your car and do their best to keep you satisfied.

They also kept communication with the customers who needed to leave their cars at the shop because they asked for multiple items to be installed.

The only drawbacks would be the rare cases of customers receiving faulty installations and the shop’s operating hours.

Some former customers have complained about the shop damaging their cars during installation, causing frustration and disappointment.

Thankfully, the shop fixed their mistakes as soon as they were called.

As for the operating hours, they’re closed on Sundays and close early on Saturdays, so it can be inconvenient for customers who only have time on weekends.

Pros

  • 20 years of experience
  • Excellent after-sales care
  • Top-notch workmanship
  • Good range of services
  • Offers installation services to other types of vehicles

Cons

  • Can be expensive
  • Closed on weekends

Marktek Installations began as a mobile service in 2002, but because of their workmanship, they were able to start a company in 2015.

With over 20 years of electronic experience, you can rest assured that your car is in good hands when you hire these guys.

The shop offers installation of car stereos, UHF communication, cameras, alarms, batteries, and more.

What stood out to us the most about this company is their workmanship. Many of their former customers have talked about how satisfied they are with the shop’s workmanship, not just with stereo installation but also with other services.

We also love how they still entertain customers after the sales and installation. They advise customers experiencing problems with their stereo systems to bring their cars back for the technicians to check.

The service, however, can be expensive. You’ll find shops around the area that offer the same service at a lower price.

We still consider the price fair enough, considering how excellent the workmanship is. Still, some may find it out of their budget.

They’re also closed on weekends, so make sure to drop by on weekdays.
