Pros

  • Offers a wide variety of services
  • Offers paediatric consultations
  • Large pool of experienced cardiologists
  • 38 years in operation
  • Multiple locations in South Australia

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • Doesn’t bulk bill
  • Can be very busy

SA Heart was established in 1984 and has been providing South Australians with cutting-edge cardiovascular treatment.

The clinic offers a full range of diagnostic tests and procedures. Some of its services include transoesophageal echocardiogram, coronary angiogram, and right heart catheterisation.

What stood out to us about this clinic is its large pool of cardiologists, the largest among the clinics on this list.

SA Hearts has 27 cardiologists ready to check and help patients.

Due to this, they can cover a wide range of subspecialties. In addition, patients with complex cases can benefit from their combined expertise.

The clinic is also able to offer both adult and paediatric consultations because of its cardiologists.

Additionally, they have multiple South Australia branches, making them more accessible to patients.

Just note that the clinic does not bulk bill. This means you’ll be expected to pay everything in full on the day of the service.

Rebates will be deposited directly to your bank account if it’s registered with Medicare.

Another thing you should be aware of before visiting is that it can be very busy sometimes. You should expect some wait time and a crowd of people waiting for their appointments

Pros

  • 7 cardiologists
  • Offers a wide range of cardiology services
  • 14 years in operation
  • Personable staff
  • Has a 24/7 on-call service

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • Doctors are sometimes unavailable for appointments

Cardiovascular Centre was established by Prof. Prash Sanders in 2008 to provide South Australian folks with comprehensive cardiovascular services.

The clinic specialises in cardiac arrhythmias but offers other cardiology specialties and procedures.

This is made possible by the clinic’s seven experienced cardiologists. Their years of education and experience allowed them to master different subspecialties and share them with the people.

Our favourite thing about this clinic is its 24/7 on-call emergency services, guaranteeing a doctor on stand-by if an emergency happens beyond clinical hours.

The clinic itself is closed on weekends, so this 24/7 emergency service is essential.

We also appreciate how personable the staff members are. The staff at the front desk are always polite, the nurses are caring, and the cardiologists are very knowledgeable.

One thing we want them to improve, however, is their scheduling system. There are times when doctors are unavailable during apportionments and a different doctor is assigned.

Pros

  • 24 years in operation
  • Wide range of cardiology services
  • 5 cardiologists
  • Provides visiting specialist services to multiple Adelaide hospitals
  • Friendly staff members

Cons

  • Hard to contact at times
  • Long wait time

Established in 1998, Adelaide Heart Clinic has been successful in amassing a staff of highly qualified cardiologists who are committed to providing exceptional medical treatment.

The clinic offers a full range of cardiology services, including diagnostic and ongoing condition services.

Despite being around for 24 years, we like that the clinic keeps up with the advancements in medicine and has a modern facility that uses up-to-date technology.

The clinic’s cardiologists also provide services to other hospitals like The Royal Adelaide Hospital, Calvary Adelaide Hospital, and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Due to its long history of excellent track record, many patients receive referrals to the clinic and its cardiologists. As such, you may find it hard to connect with them at times.

Wait times are also relatively longer than other clinics because of the number of patients visiting the clinic.

While waiting, being anxious is inevitable. Fortunately, the staff members are friendly and will try their best to ease your nerves when they notice you’re getting anxious.

Pros

  • 6 cardiologists
  • Wide range of cardiology services
  • Has 2 other clinics
  • HeartScreen program
  • Efficient service

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • No information about billing policy on website

Nightingale Cardiology is one of Adelaide’s highest-rated and most recommended cardiology clinics, and it’s easy to understand why.

For starters, the six cardiologists in the clinic are very thorough with their diagnoses. They explain to the patients the risks of their condition, how the treatment process will proceed, and what things will be expected in the coming days.

Additionally, they are efficient with their scheduling system. There’s almost no wait time for patients coming in time for their appointments.

The location of the clinic is also very accessible. It’s near a bus stop, and parking spaces are available for patients coming in with cars.

Aside from this, they also have two other branches, so they can visit the other clinics if the patients can’t come to the Hutt Street clinic.

These are all advantages that are worth praising, but what really stood out to us is the HeartScreen program offered by the clinic.

Through this program, the doctors will evaluate your overall cardiac risk. After evaluation, they’ll help you make essential adjustments to your lifestyle to reduce that risk and allow you to live your life to the fullest.

We believe this is an essential service for every cardiology clinic, as this can help prevent heart diseases from developing.

However, the website’s lack of a billing policy is a bit disappointing. Cardiovascular treatments are expensive, so it’s important that patients know the billing policies of the clinic.

They are also closed on weekends, so if it’s not an emergency, patients will have to wait and make time during weekdays.

5. Heart & Vascular

Pros

  • Large pool of cardiologists
  • Accredited at major private hospitals
  • Wide range of cardiology services
  • Provides paediatric cardiac surgery
  • Multiple branches in South Australia

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • Doesn’t bulk bill

Another clinic with a large pool of cardiologists is Heart & Vascular, located at the Calvary Adelaide Hospital.

The clinic has 13 cardiologists, each of which is a master of different subspecialties, including interventional cardiology, cardiac transplantation, adult congenital heart disease, women’s heart programme, and more.

Heart & Vascular is also accredited by Calvary Adelaide Hospital, Ashford Hospital, and Flinders Private Hospital. This ensures patients that the clinic provides excellent medical services.

What we like about this clinic is that it doesn’t only provide extensive services to adults but also to children. As heart diseases don’t only affect adults, cardiology clinics must have at least one paediatric cardiologist.

We also like that the clinic has multiple branches in South Australia, making it more accessible to patients.

As for the clinic’s billing policy, they don’t bulk bill. This can be quite burdensome for some patients, especially with high medical bills.

They are also closed on weekends, so make sure to have some free time on weekdays for your consultation.
