Make every holiday special with the best Christmas trees in Adelaide!
Every year growing up, we always had a Christmas tree in the house during the holidays. It was the one thing that made the place feel properly festive, and it set the mood for the holidays straight away.
Now that I’ve got my own family, I’m keen to keep that tradition going. Buying a tree right before Christmas has become part of the fun, and it’s something we all look forward to.
I’ll share my favourite spots in Adelaide to pick up a tree (both real and artificial ones) to make your celebrations feel just as special!

I’ve been heading up to Adelaide Hills Christmas Trees every December for years now, and it has become one of my favourite places to keep our tradition alive. They’ve been around for some time now, and you can tell they know what they’re doing.
The trees are grown in the cool hills where the climate gives them that full shape and fresh pine scent that fills the whole house once you bring one home. What I enjoy most is how simple they make the whole process of buying and setting up your tree.
I usually choose their click-and-collect service, although they also offer delivery, which comes in handy whenever my car is in the shop. They stock a couple of sturdy tree stands as well, so getting the tree set up once it arrives is rarely a problem.
Pro tip: Adelaide Hills Christmas Trees takes the hassle out of packing up with their tree disposal service. You can book a pickup online, leave your tree out the front on your chosen day after New Year’s, and they’ll collect it for you. It’s an easy way to wrap up the season without the mess.

9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (SAT and SUN)
Christmas Tree Farm Chandlers Hill is a place I sometimes buy my trees from when I feel like changing things up. It’s quite an interesting spot since it has been around since 1955 and is one of the oldest Christmas tree farms in South Australia.
Like the farm I usually visit, their trees are grown in high elevation, which gives them that classic pine scent. If you would rather not carry the tree yourself, they offer delivery and can even set it up for you!
I also like that they focus on sustainability. For every tree that is cut, another is planted, and after Christmas, they mulch the old trees to nourish the next generation. It feels good to support a business that aims to help the environment when possible.
Pro tip: Christmas Tree Farm Chandlers Hill is worth more than just a quick stop. Take a little extra time to enjoy the festive vibe here by visiting Santa’s Cottage, browsing their photo displays, and exploring their gift shop. There are also farm animals you can spend time with and take photos alongside.

Another longstanding farm you can visit to buy a fresh Christmas tree from is Santa Trees Christmas Tree Farm. It has been family-run for more than 35 years and is set on about 50 acres near Forreston, not far from Kersbrook.
What I like about them is the experience they offer. You can actually walk through the rows of pines and cut your own tree, which is a real treat if you want to make the day special for the kids!
They even encourage families to bring a picnic and spend some time enjoying the fresh country air. I love that it turns what could be a quick errand into a relaxed outing and a chance to spend time together.
Pro tip: If you’re picking up a tree from Santa Trees, grab one of their Cinco water stands. They’re sturdy, easy to use, and come with a 10-year guarantee. The wide water reservoir keeps your tree fresh for longer, and the stand itself makes setup simple, so you can spend less time setting up your Christmas tree.

A place I discovered recently that might become one of my favourite spots to buy a Christmas tree is Christmas Tree Plantation. It’s a good-sized farm you’ll find on Clarendon Road, just a couple of minutes away from Aberfoyle Park.
They specialise in Pinus radiata trees, also known as Monterey Pine, which usually have a dense shape and strong branches. That’s exactly what I look for since my kids love to hang plenty of decorations on the tree.
I like that they cut the tree down on the same day it’s delivered to your home, which guarantees freshness. Their focus on sustainability is another highlight, with every tree that is cut being replaced and the soil mulched to keep the plantation healthy.
Pro tip: When you head out to Christmas Tree Plantation, plan a little extra time to stop by their gift shop and cafe. The shop has plenty of decorations and small festive items that make it easy to add finishing touches at home, while the cafe is a nice spot to grab a coffee or snack before heading back.

Address: 62 Hunt Rd, McLaren Flat
Contact details: +61 422 842 814
Operating hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (THURS-SUN)
Tanamera Christmas Tree Farm is a good choice if you like having options. The farm was first established in 1995 and was run by the same family for more than 30 years before being passed on to new owners.
The trees are well-grown and carefully shaped, with prices starting at around $100 for smaller options and reaching over $220 for large statement trees. The prices feel fair for the quality you get.
What makes the farm even more appealing is that it’s also a nice place to spend time with the family. Their Fairy Garden gives you a chance to explore, ride a mower, or even cut down your own tree, which turns the visit into more than just a shopping trip.
Pro tip: Due to high demand, Tanamera Christmas Tree Farm begins taking reservations from the 4th of October, but these are available on weekends only. For the best pick of the season, it’s worth heading out early in October to place your ribbon on a tree before the cutting season starts in November.

Adelaide Tree Farm in Carey Gully is one of the more unique choices I’ve come across because they don’t limit themselves to Christmas trees. They also offer fruit trees and ornamental species!
One of the most interesting trees they sell is the Picea glauca, also known as the Christmas Star. It’s a small pine that grows up to 80 cm high, making it a perfect way to bring festive spirit into smaller spaces such as apartments or condominiums.
Since it’s compact, they deliver it alive to your address so you can continue caring for it as a houseplant after Christmas. They also sell organic compost, which is worth picking up to keep your little tree healthy and ready for the next holiday season.
Pro tip: If you’d like to help a friend enjoy their own Christmas tree, consider giving them a gift card from Adelaide Tree Farm. You can choose the value yourself and order one either by calling their contact number or by sending an email to [email protected].

Their trees come in many shapes and sizes, designed to resemble popular varieties such as Colorado Spruce and Oregon Fir. They’re more expensive than natural trees, but the company provides financing options to make them easier to afford.
Along with artificial trees, The Christmas Heirloom Company also stocks decorations, including wreaths, garlands, lights, and ornaments. For anyone decorating for the first time, it’s a good place to explore and find everything you need in one spot.

Another good place to look for artificial Christmas trees is Your Christmas Warehouse. They stock trees in many shapes and sizes, including slim styles that fit neatly into small rooms and large ones that create a big statement in the living room.
They also offer an impressive selection of Christmas collectables, including well-known ranges such as Lemax villages, Jim Shore ornaments, and Mark Roberts fairies. These are perfect if you enjoy adding iconic pieces to your holiday display.
What makes the store even more appealing to me is the variety of home decorations available. You’ll find tableware, scented ornament sticks, and lights. They even have Christmas-themed books and puzzles, should you need a gift for the little ones.
Pro tip: Before choosing your Christmas tree, it’s worth checking the clearance page on the Your Christmas Warehouse website. The page is updated regularly with discounted trees and ornaments, giving you the chance to pick up high-quality pieces at a fraction of the usual price.

I’m sure you’ve heard of IKEA, best known for its wide range of flatpack furniture. What some people may not realise is that they also sell artificial Christmas trees, designed to be practical, affordable, and easy to set up.
Their trees come in a variety of sizes, with prices starting from as low as $17. I find the designs to be quite simple yet effective, with branches that hold decorations securely and a look that stays consistent year after year.
Beyond affordability, another reason why I feel they’re a good choice is convenience. You can pick up a tree here while browsing for lights, ornaments, and even tableware for Christmas lunch, making it easy to get everything you need in one visit.
