Professionalism. When it comes to events, the planners should always be responsive and reliable, especially for sudden changes in the event.
Fairness of fees. I prefer companies that provide event packages with many inclusions. Also, their base fees shouldn’t be too high compared to other event planners in Adelaide.
Creativity. To gauge their previous events’ creativity (whether the event concepts are fresh or trite), I made sure to study the company’s past designs and themes.

Middleton Events has planned some of the liveliest events I’ve attended! It’s no wonder they have been operating for more than 44 years!

They have hosted an impressive number of 35,000 events. Along the way, they have garnered many awards from Meeting Industry and Meetings & Events Australia.

One thing that stood out to me was how well-coordinated their team is, from the hosts and the technical crew to the servers. It’s a great sign of good leadership and experience.

Looking back at the events I’ve attended, it’s easy to see how flexible they are. For instance, one was a corporate event for a panel discussion, while another was a birthday party with a Moulin Rouge theme!

However, if there are any downsides to them, one is that they have limited slots due to high demand. Particularly for weddings, it’s advisable to book at least 6 months in advance.

Another downside is that I’m not a big fan of how they handle customer complaints. Some clients I talked to mentioned that they had to wait about a week before receiving a response.

The Lily Pipit excels in the variety and design of their decorations, making them suitable for a wide range of events, including graduations, weddings, and birthday parties.

I have heard nothing but praise from my cousin who hired them for her son’s graduation. She particularly appreciated their excellent coordination with clients and their ability to collaborate to bring the client’s vision to life.

Another strength of theirs is their expertise in creating elegant, simple, and classy decor for garden functions, especially weddings. I was amazed when I viewed their portfolio.

It’s also convenient that they offer a selection of individual decor items, such as neon lights, backdrops, and floral arrangements, which can easily enhance the ambiance of any event due to their high-quality craftsmanship.

However, it’s important to note that their focus is primarily on the design and venue arrangement aspects of event planning. 

You may need to hire a separate team for hosting, music, and food, although they do have contacts that can assist you in these areas.

Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that the team at The Lily Pipit is relatively young compared to other event planners in Adelaide. This may be a deciding factor for some clients.

As their name suggests, Modern Party Hire Adelaide specializes in chic, modern, and minimalist event designs, making them an ideal choice for corporate events and simple parties.

I had the pleasure of attending a wedding reception they planned, and it was truly memorable. The combination of geometric designs and elegant flowers created stunning visuals.

One of their clients I talked to praised them for the high-end decor they provide. He hired them for a kid’s party at a beach club, and from the photos, it was evident that they have a strong commitment to delivering a cohesive concept.

Many of their previous clients also mentioned how responsive they were to inquiries. This level of responsiveness is particularly valuable since most clients tend to double or even triple-check the party planning details.

However, it’s important to note that if you are on a tight budget, you may want to reconsider hiring them. Their fees are on the expensive side.

The Stylist’s Guide excels due to their well-rounded team. From their enthusiastic director to their friendly on-the-day coordinator, it’s easy to feel comfortable and at ease with them.

One of the clients I’ve talked to praised how they’re able to follow your vision for the event even from the start. She said that she felt their experience from how the team provided recommendations from the concept to the venue. 

I also find their creative direction very commendable. Their designs draw inspiration from various sources and reflect a touch of the client’s personality.

Many of their clients particularly applaud their expertise in production design, event photography, and decor. A quick glance at their portfolio would make you believe they design for a magazine.

It’s also worth mentioning that their team is one of the most highly awarded event planners in Adelaide, having received six awards from ABIA Weddings.

However, it’s important to note that their team is relatively small. This means that securing their services during wedding seasons, such as March or November, may be challenging due to limited availability.

Another aspect to consider is that their fees can be on the expensive side, primarily due to the extensive consultations they provide.

Venue Productions is an excellent choice if you’re seeking affordability without compromising style. 

Their services are particularly affordable when hosting events at their preferred venues, such as Adelaide Zoo, Adelaide Pavilion, and Mount Lofty House.

What makes them even more appealing is that their reasonable rates are accompanied by opulent and large-scale designs. This makes them a fantastic option for large reception parties and corporate functions.

Many clients have showered praise upon their team, especially Matt and Shana, for their high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Clients have mentioned that the team is quick to address any emergencies in events. They exceptionally handled a situation where a client needed to add last-minute guests.

It’s worth noting that Venue Productions has been in the industry for over a decade, and their excellent styling has earned them four awards from ABIA Weddings.

However, one area where they could improve is in responding promptly to first-time inquirers. They take some time to entertain new clients due to their busy schedule.

Additionally, it’s noticeable that their designs tend to have a similar aesthetic. They lean towards formal designs, which may not be suitable for all types of events.
