Pros

  • Has been operating since 1983
  • Many variations of firewood
  • Has a showroom
  • Sells many accessories

Cons

  • Pricey
  • Some representatives are unhelpful

Wood N Logs is one of the top firewood suppliers in South Adelaide and Fleurieu Peninsula. They’ve been operating since 1983.

Their professionalism makes them an excellent long-term supplier. They arrange delivery schedules well and are always transparent about pricing.

The best-selling wood of the shop is their river red gum, ironbark, and yellow box. These can be seen in their showroom, which houses many other types of firewood.

All of these can be tested in front of buyers during the winter through the use of a combustion heater. You’ll have more confidence in the quality of their products because of this.

Additionally, they sell many other accessories such as firelighters and firepits. This completes the set of fire-burning materials for you.

One of their disadvantages, however, is their rates for firewood are high. With their quality, we found these rates reasonable, though.

Another downside is that some clients found their representatives to be unhelpful when given inquiries.

Pros

  • Affordable rates
  • Provides free delivery
  • Certified by B Corp
  • Transparent rates

Cons

  • Limited range of products
  • Has received complaints over moisture of firewood

Wood for Good is a great choice because of their affordable rates.

For starters, they can provide one tonne of firewood and delivery for only $395. You also get free delivery if you purchase two tonnes.

Their rates for red gum, sugar gum, and ironbark are affordable too. Furthermore, they have a flat rate of $30 for deliveries near their location in Para Hills West.

The best part is that all of their rates are transparently written on their website. Through this, you’ll have no difficulty in arranging your budget for their products.

You’ll be glad to know that they donate to deductible gift recipient charities. They are also certified by B Corp, which promotes environmentally friendly practices for businesses.

Their advantages aside, we’re a bit bummed that their range of firewood products is limited.

Aside from this, some clients were disappointed with the amount of moisture in the firewood they received. There are also a few reports of green parts inside the wood.

Pros

  • Clean packaging and accurate measurements
  • Sells firewood and garden mulch
  • Fast delivery times
  • Supports Barkuma

Cons

  • Inconsistent product quality
  • Unresponsive to phone calls

Adelaide Firewood Depot is a great choice because of their dedication to details as seen in their clean packaging and accurate measurements.

They provide both firewood and garden mulch. Their staff provides valuable advice about using these, which we appreciate.

We like how fast they deliver firewood. This, along with their competitive rates, makes them highly recommendable.

In addition, they support the Barkuma organization which helps people with disabilities to find employment. Two persons with disabilities are also currently working for them.

Finally, they have a great website for online shopping. Adding products to your cart and using it for delivery is straightforward.

If there’s anything we didn’t like, it’s that some clients found their products to be inconsistent in quality. It’s sometimes too moist when fresh out of the bag.

Another thing that may concern you is that they are unresponsive to phone calls.

Pros

  • Has been around since 1934
  • Online shop is easy to use
  • Also sells heating and landscaping equipment
  • Helpful staff

Cons

  • Only open 3 days week
  • Only offers red gum firewood

Stirling Woodyard has been around since 1934. They specialize in providing kindling materials, charcoal, and briquettes for barbecues.

We found their website easy to use for ordering their products too. They contact you quickly and deliver fast.

Aside from this, they also sell landscaping supplies and heating equipment. This completes the set of materials you need for handling firewood.

Finally, their staff’s great experience can be seen in how they provide information about their products. This is greatly helpful for first-time clients.

However, a downside with them is that they are only open three days a week. This can be inconvenient for those who have busy schedules.

Aside from this, their only offering for firewood is red gum, making their options much more limited.

Pros

  • High quality of products
  • Environmentally friendly and sustainable
  • Member of Australian Firewood Association
  • Good rates for delivery

Cons

  • Doesn’t have an online shopping tool
  • Only provides red gum firewood

Hills Heat is a great choice because of the high quality of their firewood. It undergoes rigid checking and treatment to ensure the optimal amount of moisture.

The latter is made possible by their well-constructed cover for the firewood. In the shop, you can have the wood weighed in front of you, which makes clients trust them easily.

Their stock primarily comes from Victoria and New South Wales. Their dedication to providing environmentally-friendly and sustainable means for getting this is commendable.

In fact, they are a member of the Australian Firewood Association. Their representatives are great and highly professional too, which completes the experience for you.

You’ll be glad to hear their rates for delivery are reasonable. They have a wide range of areas serviced for delivery too.

If there’s anything we didn’t like, it’s that they don’t have an online shop tool. This can make buying times longer.

Aside from this, the only firewood they provide is red gum, which limits your choices.
