Pros
- Huge place
- Well-priced drink menu
- Amazing crowd
- Great music
Cons
- Security can be aggressive
- Some staff are discriminatory
We visited Precinct Nightclub a few months ago, and we can still remember how much fun we had while there.
The place was packed, but since it was a pretty huge club, having that many people inside wasn’t that uncomfortable. In fact, the crowd only added to the fun.
Everyone was having fun dancing and singing along to the music, so it was easy for us to get pumped up too.
The neon lights, paired with the loud screams from the crowd, also add to the excitement.
The DJs were great and played some great music that livened up the mood. It was also pretty loud, so it really prompted people to jump and have fun.
As for the drinks, we found the prices reasonable, especially considering the location of the club. If you just avoid the margarita, then you’ll definitely have fun with their drinks.
The only downside would be the attitude of the staff. The security guards were too aggressive, and some of the staff inside were discriminatory.
The guards dragged some people out of the club, which is pretty understandable since some of them were totally wasted and caused a scene. We just didn’t understand why the guards wanted to check our social media accounts before letting us in.
As for the staff inside, we heard them being discriminatory towards an Asian man who wasn’t doing anything. It was unpleasant and made us feel uncomfortable.
Thankfully, another staff member stepped up and dealt with the situation. The management has also promised to deal with security guards after several complaints were raised.

Pros
- Cheap
- A lot of live shows
- Great music
- Sunken dance floor
Cons
- Restrooms need to revamp
- Small and dated facility
If you’re looking for a nightclub with a lot of live music shows, then Jive is the place to go.
A lot of local musicians like Clint Boge, Stellie, The Rions, Vermantics, and Kyle Lionheart perform at the club, so you’re guaranteed great music when you come to visit.
When we came to visit, West Thebarton was there to perform, and we had a great night discovering new artists.
We also loved that there were a lot of seating areas in the club, which allowed us to rest when we got tired standing.
We also loved the sunken dance floor of the club. It separated the lounge area from the actual dance floor and allowed the punters at the bar to still see the performers.
The only disappointing part about the nightclub is the state of its facilities.
The restrooms need a major revamp, especially the men’s. One of my male friends who came with me complained about the smell inside the restroom and the tap that wouldn’t work.
It’s also a pretty small nightclub, so we found it hard to move when we were on the dance floor. The funky interior inside also feels a bit dated compared to other nightclubs.
Setting all that aside, it’s a great nightclub to drop by if you’re a big fan of music and a bit older than regular partygoers.

Pros
- Has a lot of entertainment shows
- Fun atmosphere
- Good music choices
- A safe place for LGBTQ
Cons
- A bit pricey
- It can be too crowded
Mary’s Poppin is a nightclub that’s mainly visited by queer folk. It’s run by queer folk too and is a safe space for the members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
However, this doesn’t mean that straight people can’t come to the club. While it’s true that its patrons are mostly queer, you can still come as long as you’re not homophobic, transphobic, or misogynistic.
The best part of our visit to the nightclub was the drag show. The queens were totally amazing, and we had the time of our lives watching them perform.
We also loved how fun the overall atmosphere was inside the club. The clubgoers were very friendly and encouraged us to dance to the music, which was one of the reasons we had a blast.
They will be hosting more events, so we’re planning to come back again. We’re looking forward to their PLD X Lady Gaga event, but there are also a lot of other shows, so try visiting their website to see which one will interest you the most.
The only drawbacks would be the price and the fact that the place can get too crowded.
There’s a $20 entry fee, which is pretty pricey considering that no drink is still included in that. The drinks are also on the expensive side compared to other clubs in the area.
As for the crowd, it was the typical crowded club when we came to visit, and we still had enough room to move. However, a friend of ours didn’t have as much fun when they visited because it was a lot crowded.

Pros
- Has various shows
- Great location
- Friendly atmosphere
- Great cocktails
Cons
- Long wait for drinks
- Customer service can be improved
One of the best rooftop bars in Adelaide, Nineteen Ten is a must-visit nightclub for you and your friends.
The best part about this nightclub is its location. It was easy for us to find it since it’s just on Hindley Street.
On top of that, it’s on a rooftop in the middle of Adelaide, so the view was something no other nightclub could recreate. The overlooking view of the city made our stay a lot better.
Their cocktails are also top-notch and the main reason we’ll come back. We highly recommend trying them out on your visit.
The only downside is the long wait for the drinks. We had to wait for over 30 minutes for one of our orders, which was disappointing.
But since the drinks tasted good, we didn’t make a big deal out of it.
As for their shows, they deserve another article because of how great they are. The Inferno show that they had when we visited left us all in awe; it was something we hadn’t seen in the other nightclubs we went to.
The only thing we didn’t like when we visited was the attitude of some of the staff. The doorman made us women feel extremely uncomfortable.
Some of the bartenders were also not as friendly as we had hoped for. They were a bit too stern when talking to one of the patrons there.

Pros
- Closes late
- Good music and cocktails
- Huge rooftop bar
- Well-priced drinks
Cons
- No available contact number
- Staff can be aggressive
For those who want a true night out that lasts until the early morning of the next day, Dog and Duck is the best place for you.
Although we weren’t able to last until 6:00 AM—because, you know, age—it’s great that they’re open until that time to let the youngsters have the time of their life.
Despite not being able to enjoy their operating hours to the fullest, we still had so much fun when we went. The music was awesome, and it made us feel alive and pumped up.
It can be a bit too loud for others, but we prefer it that way because it makes the environment feel more lively and fun.
It’s also a huge rooftop bar, so there was enough space for everyone who came. The crowd didn’t stop us from feeling ourselves and enjoying our time there.
We also loved that their drinks were reasonably priced. They weren’t as expensive as we expected them to be, so we got to splurge a bit more.
We were just a bit unhappy with the staff. They were too aggressive for our liking, and we didn’t like how the security refused to let two girls enter the club for no apparent reason.
If you want to contact them, head over to their website and social media accounts because they don’t have a contact number available, which is a bit of a bummer.
