Focusing on bookkeeping as its core business, we believe that AQ Bookkeeping can help any business deal with all aspects of the payroll process. 

We appreciate that they are accredited by Xero, Quickbooks and MYOB, so clients have options when choosing a service.

Like some of the other Xero partners on this list, they also offer training and integration assistance if needed. We think that this is a great way to support HR staff that may need upskilling or extra support.

We were pleasantly surprised that AQ Bookkeeping’s operating hours extend through to Saturdays. Requesting a consultation is also obligation-free, so we think they’ve made themselves as accessible as they can be to potential clients.

Consistent across most client reviews is their consistency in providing professional and comprehensive service from the first call onwards. For us, this is probably one of the best compliments they can receive given the meticulous nature of their work.

The only drawback here is that they offer a much more limited range of services than their counterparts. This may be of concern to clients who are looking to find additional support outside payroll assistance.

For payroll needs, we think it’s a big plus that ProAMS uses its partnership with Xero to get clients’ payroll systems online and in real time, with STP compliance guaranteed. 

Now, if clients are looking to expand their business, we think they’ll love that ProAMS has a suite of services geared towards streamlining their accounts management system beyond simple payroll management. 

From customised bookkeeping and finance to a virtual CFO system, as well as Xero training and integration, it seems ProAMS is always prepared with a solution tailored to any business need. This appears to be consistent with the glowing client feedback we’ve been hearing.

The only downside we can see is that in being closely tied with Xero, clients may not have options outside of what the software has to offer. However, considering that Xero makes bookkeeping easier, that may not be much of a downer.

We also heard from different clients, who are happy with how ProAMS handles their account. They particularly appreciate the easy access to support, which also makes them top-tier in our eyes.

The overwhelming consensus is that ProAMS helped business owners focus on their business and less on account management. That alone is worth our recommendation and inclusion in this list.
