Da Vinci Ristorante’s wood-fired pizzas are throwbacks to Italian staples—no modern over-the-top sauces and extras, just pure, mouthwatering tradition.

There are around 15 picks, but Margherita Verace is the clear winner. Its San Marzano tomato base bursts with tangy flavors, accented by aromatic fresh basil notes and a milky and fruity finish, courtesy of buffalo mozzarella and virgin oil.

Our next go-to is their Capricciosa, a nuttier and earthier option perfect for those with a large appetite. The essence of artichokes and prosciutto cotto are the flavors that stand out, and they are all accentuated by tomato sauce and olives.

Tip: If you want to save, ordering online is the right move. Da Vinci Ristorante’s takeaway menu is 30% cheaper.

Cafe Fellini is a wood-oven pizza OG in Adelaide, firing up slices since 1997, making them a true master of flame and dough.

Their pizza game is a drool-worthy mix of perennial hits and bold twists that might make your Italian grandma clutch her pearls. Think Margherita, Capricciosa, Salumi, and, dare we say, Hawaiian.

For us, though, Tutti Di Mare is the star, with its crown of prawns, calamari, and scallops atop Napoletana sauce. Orto Buono is a close second, boasting roasted eggplant, fior di latte, button mushrooms, and bocconcini, all drizzled with basil pesto.

When it comes to our favorites, however, the Meat Lover pizza first comes to mind. We enjoy a little heat, so its use of spicy nduja and hot salami gave it extra points.

Our team is also fond of the ocean’s umami-rich notes, making the cafe’s seafood option a no-brainer choice. We have the South Australian waters to thank for this dish, as it boasts A-tier tiger prawns, anchovies, and mussels.

Starting with their Saucy Tomato is our usual move, especially when in the mood for something classic. With tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese balls, and fresh basil, this is lip-smacking for those who like their pizzas simple yet sublime.

We’re also huge fans of Far West Fungi. Bold flavors from a truffle paste base, mozzarella, caramelized onions, and rocket dominate this earthy delight best finished with a glass of The Avila Shiraz.

We totally stuffed ourselves at Marcellina the last time we swung by, and it’s safe to say it’s their gourmet-style pizzas that knocked our socks off.

The selection consists of over 10 variants, but the best offering, in our opinion, is the Quattro Formaggio. What makes it stellar is its medley of high-class cheese, including bocconcini, feta, and parmesan.

For the runner-up, our vote goes to the special Lamb’a’jeen. This Middle-Eastern pizza pops with the flavors of robust spices, perfectly ripe tomatoes, and sweet, gamey minced lamb that has herby undertones.
