How We Rated The Top Tattoo Services in Adelaide

Portfolio: A portfolio reflects the service’s range of style and perspective. We want a tattoo service that’s skilled, diverse, and proficient.

Professionalism: We also looked at how they accommodate and communicate with their clients. Responsiveness, organization, and making necessary adjustments when needed are prime factors in a tattoo service.
Pricing: We checked out each of these tattoo services’ rates depending on design intricacy, tattoo size, tattoo area, and more.

  • Welcoming and friendly artists
  • Informative website

  • Nontransparent pricing
  • Small shop

Known as a safe haven for nerds, geeks, and weabs, Infinite Worlds Tattoo takes pride in providing relatable geeky tattoos that represent your personality.

Their creative team consists of senior artists and second-year apprentices.

What’s more, their shop promotes diversity. They’re very accommodating to all clients of all races and gender.

You can find all information about tattoos on their website, like general care instructions, aftercare methods, what to expect on your first time, and more.

However, they don’t have their prices posted on their website. We find a price guide useful especially for first-time clients who have a lot of ideas but are within a limited budget.

We all know first-time sessions can be scary with all the ink and needles. But they don’t recommend bringing in a companion since they have a small shop, so it can get crowded fast.

Black Diamond Tattoo has highly experienced artists who have developed unique artistic styles to deliver beautiful custom tattoo pieces.

With over 20+ years of collective experience, they’re pros when it comes to customized tattoo designs and applications.

Coming into their shop, you can get yourself free snacks, tea, coffee, or any refreshment during your session.

They also give a free gift pack after every session that contains all tattoo aftercare essentials.

Aside from that, they’re also partnered with LaserTat, a tattoo removal company. If you’re looking for tattoo cover-ups and removal, they’re also the shop to go.

However, if you’re trying to book a tattoo session, you can only do so through email. You can wait for a response within 48 hours.

  • Highly experienced artists
  • Free touch-up session

  • Nontransparent pricing
  • Unreliable output from apprentice

XJ Tattoos strives to deliver long-lasting quality tattoos to their clients. They’re highly specialized in designing traditional Japanese style, old school, watercolor, and custom realism pieces.

There’s also a free touch-up session for all tattoos done in their shop within the first three months.

As for pricing, we’d appreciate it if they had a price guide. The guide can include samples and sizes of pieces with their corresponding price range.

This way, first-time clients can get an idea of how much to save up for their first tattoo experience.

They usually charge by the piece. So when inquiring, you can do so by sending a direct message to their Instagram account along with your desired tattoo design.

Take note, though, it could take them an hour or longer to respond, depending on their business hours.

When booking, make sure to inform them if you prefer a senior artist or an apprentice to do your tattoo.

There have been complaints from clients that they’re not satisfied with the final output because it looks different from what they had imagined.

For simple pieces, we recommend booking apprentices. However, for large pieces with intricate designs, we should definitely ask for a senior artist.

  • Long history in the industry
  • Highly experienced artists
  • Wide range of designs

  • Nontransparent prices
  • Unresponsive to emails
  • No parking space

Established in 1995, Tattoo Gallery has become one of Adelaide’s most popular tattoo parlors.

Their highly experienced tattoo artists have undergone art education, training, and apprenticeship to deliver small and simple designs and full-on large pieces.

They don’t have their prices posted. We’d like them better if they have a transparent price guide so clients can have an idea of how much tattoos typically cost.

If you want to inquire about how much a piece would cost, it’s best to send it via email and wait for a response. Take note that it could take a while for them to respond.

There have been records from previous potential clients who tried to book through email but never got any response. We’d recommend calling, but they can’t provide a quote through a phone call—without seeing the design that you want.

Another important thing to take note of: they don’t have parking spaces available. If you come in a car, you’ll have to park at Marlborough Street, which is around a five-minute

walk from the gallery.

We don’t recommend bringing in a companion, as they have a small shop, so it can easily get crowded inside.

  • Long history in the industry
  • Modern and relaxing interior
  • Exclusive rooms

  • Charges up to $250 per hour
  • Lost appointments

With over 14 years of experience, Day One Tattoo has managed to establish a tattoo parlor that stands out from the rest.

Coming into their modern tattoo studio, you’ll immediately feel relaxed in their spacious and comfortable interior. You can enjoy tea, coffee, water, and soda, and watch Netflix while waiting for your turn.

They value privacy, so you’ll be having an exclusive tattoo session in a private room with your tattoo artists.

Take note that they’re strictly an appointment-only studio. They don’t accommodate walk-ins.

As for the pricing, they have a minimum of $180 to $250, which depends on the artist. However, prices vary due to design, size, and placement.

Any tattoo that will take longer than three hours to do will be charged an hourly rate of $180 to $250.

We don’t really promote charging by the hour.

This means the longer the session gets, the more profit there is for the artist. Meanwhile, longer sessions also mean more pain for the client.

Once you’ve booked an appointment, make sure to call after to confirm it.

There were a few records of clients coming in for their appointment only to find out that they weren’t on the record. They may ask for a reschedule or you can choose to refund your deposit.
