With powder-fine white sand, towering cliffs, and crystal-clear waters, Sellicks Beach is a dreamland for our team’s beach lovers.
Vehicles are allowed here ($8 access fee), making it a prime spot for quick breathers or long, mind-soothing picnics.
The rolling waves of Sellicks Beach also provided us with an ideal playground for surfing, while its calm and inviting safe shallows refreshed our bodies and spirit!
Tip: When visiting Sellicks Beach, make sure to check the tide schedule beforehand. During low tide, expansive sandbars emerge, creating shallow pools and sandbanks that are perfect for exploring, beachcombing, and enjoying a stroll.
Cactus Canyon

South of Selicks’ central coastline lies one of the most spectacular South Australian sights—the steep and majestic Cactus Canyon.
This natural wonder and the creeks around it have transported rocks to the shoreline, where the relentless waves have shaped them.
This interplay of natural forces turned the area into a pebbly and picturesque beach—a frame-worthy spectacle elevated by typically calm waves and seagull flocks.
Tip: The walking trails within Cactus Canyon are not to be missed. You can either take the coastline path, the cacti-laden passage, or the steeper trails leading to the cliffs’ peaks.

Nature lovers will have a field day on this tree-lined trail along the glistening Myponga Reservoir. During our cycling trip, this spot offered us calm and the chance to encounter 120 wildlife species.
There are open areas great for picnics and self-reflection, too.
Our favorite spot is the shore where the forest and reservoir meet. It’s clean, green, and home to serenading wagtails and fairywrens.
Tip: The trail offers varied loops and hiking paths that suit different skill levels.
For beginners, we recommend the 3-km western loop. This one is shorter, shady, and ideal for bushwalkers and cyclists who prefer easier trails.
If you want a bit of a challenge, the 3.3-km eastern trail will lead you to off-the-grid gems like vast plains, verdant grasslands, and the forest’s secret spots.

Victor Harbor

Carrickalinga Beach

- Carrickalinga Beach doesn’t have any trees, so we recommend packing a tent, a parasol, and sunblock!
- For a unique perspective of Carrickalinga Beach, consider booking a helicopter or scenic flight.

Primo Estate Winery took us on a journey to some of the peninsula’s finest wine and most ravishing vineyards. For just 10$ per person, we were granted access to their Primo Estate Cellars for an entire afternoon of wine tasting!
We were delighted by their renowned wine collection’s complex and nuanced flavors, from bold, robust reds to classy, crisp whites.
If you prefer this winery’s more luxurious selection, you can try their fancy JOSEPH Experience Wine Flight for an affordable price of $20 per person. Drink outdoors where you can see the striking vineyards and rolling hills!

- Book in advance to secure your preferred time slot, and wear comfortable footwear as you’ll be doing a fair amount of walking and exploring within d’Arenberg Cube!

Joining the Waitpinga Farm Quad Bike Adventures allowed us to experience an adrenaline-pumping way to explore the rural landscapes of the Fleurieu Peninsula.
With helmets on our heads and the wind on our faces, we zoomed through bumpy terrains, open fields, and forested trails.
The terrains we enjoyed the most were the dunes and bush tracks. They’re challenging, kind of scary, and fulfilling once conquered!
Tip: Put safety at the forefront. Listen carefully to the instructions provided by the guides, and follow their lead throughout the ride to ensure an injury-free experience.
Moreover, we advise dressing appropriately in comfortable and durable clothing. Wear closed-toe shoes and consider bringing an extra layer, as the weather conditions can change throughout the day.

Our team’s absolute daredevils and thrill-seekers had a great time defying gravity at Onkaparinga River National Park. Rock climbing and abseiling here was a heart-pounding yet rewarding challenge for us!
The vantage point offered us a unique perspective of the Onkaparinga River and mountain ranges. It’s a visual feast of wonders rewarded to the brave!
Tip: Rock climbing and abseiling aren’t easy as pie. It’s essential to receive proper training and guidance from experienced instructors and to familiarize yourself with the necessary equipment and techniques.
In addition, always perform a thorough safety check before you start the climb. Don’t lose focus, communicate with your climbing partners, and be mindful of your surroundings at all times.
