Crocs & caviar taste better in these restaurants with a view in Adelaide!

Restaurants with views in Adelaide don’t just fill the belly, they also offer a feast for the eyes.

Whether you crave kangaroo meat whipped up in a blooming garden or a fried crocodile prepared by the River Torrens, haunts like Restaurant Botanic and Red Ochre Barrel Grill serve savories and scenery.

We explored the city to find more of these panorama-packed restos, so if you’re ready to learn more, we’re sharing their locations, special deals, and more below.

No matter the season, nature’s splendor is on full display at Restaurant Botanic. Earthy tones, bustling greenery, and radiant blooms embrace this pavilion-style resto, ensuring you have eye candy to go along with their seasonal and unique dishes.

Speaking of the savories, our team gobbled their emu egg chawanmushi (Japanese egg custard) with wallaby tea during our visit. We even took this plate a notch by having their caviar drizzled in lemongrass and the saltbush and mountain pepper flatbread.

Tip: Given the restaurant’s popularity, making reservations is a must. In addition, don’t forget to check their Insta for menu updates.

Jolleys Boathouse is an unbeaten hotspot for dinners under the moon or lunches kissed by the sun. This modern Aussie bistro’s rustic wooden decor matches its open, airy space, but it’s the picturesque riverside locale you should prepare your snaps for.

The food doesn’t disappoint, too, especially if you wolf them down on the old-world terrace overlooking the waters and foliage. If you’re gunning for gourmet-styled snacks, their buttered focaccia, potato rosti, and aged beef tartare take the cake.

For the main shows, the Coorong mullet in caviar sauce and the half-roasted Nomad Farm chicken with tarragon chicken jus are terrific choices.

Tip: Night might be a better time to visit if you love soft golden lights and cooler temperatures.

Adelaide’s cityscape and urban greens look more dazzling when you’re in 2KW Bar & Restaurant. The marbled rooftop setting is where the magic happens, offering vistas of pristine parks, sky-piercing buildings, and the ever-busy William St.

In terms of the bites, you can start with succulent Coffin Bay oysters covered in mignonette or the Tasmanian scallop ceviche made fiery by jalapenos.

If you’re going big, the 300-gram Kerwee Angus sirloin and slow-cooked 1.2-kilogram lamb shoulder will please your palate. These heavyweights will taste better if you have a by-the-glass cocktail or champagne on your table.

Windy Point Restaurant proves that hilltop haunts will never go out of style. The 180° windows revealed to us Adelaide’s most Instagrammable panoramas, from Gulf St Vincent’s calm blues to Adelaide Hills’ greenery-heavy landscapes.

Looks are just the tip of the iceberg here, too. Their menu features creative and contemporary Aussie cuisine.

We ordered the truffled cauliflower soup, Western Australian barramundi with smoked mussels, and Coonawarra lamb shoulder—each enriched with local ingredients.

Tip: Don’t forget the restaurant follows a smart casual dress code. Athletic drips are a huge no-no here.

Why settle for a hole-in-the-wall Greek eatery when Estia is a stone’s throw from the metro? This Henley Beach staple flaunts nautical tones, a laid-back spirit, and front-row seats to powdery sand and crystalline waters.

The food echoes the surroundings, as you’ll be gobbling up the ocean’s blessings, from well-seasoned South Australian octopus to king prawns marinated in aromatics and olive oil.

Wine also flows freely. You can opt for single-glass selections or pay big bucks for bottles like 2020 Cleanskin Shiraz and NV Lambrook Spark Pinot Noir.

Tip: If you want to try their famous banquets, consider renting Estia’s function spaces.

There are two reasons why we always drive down to The Wharf: reimagined classic dishes and Glenelg’s idyllic shoreline views.

Life slows down here, heightening the satisfaction and flavor of bites like marinated duck breast salad. The last time we dropped by, though, it was their spiced pork belly paired with mocha brulee that captivated our taste buds.

We also had plenty of options when it came to liquid courage. Their Aperol spritz, mojito, and amaretto sour cocktails were perfect for the shoreline setting, but wines and vodka also worked like a siren’s charm.

Tip: Don’t forget to check if the restaurant has upcoming events. They often host holiday-centered parties and pizza or cocktail nights.

Fine dining meets sky-high panoramic perfection at The Summit Café and Function Center, perched atop the iconic Mount Lofty.

On our previous trip, they served a lip-smacking Australian menu, which featured all-time favorites like eggs Benedict, French toast, and gourmet sandos.

Bubbles were also up for grabs, but we went with their bottomless coffee and tea and paired them with meringue pie and chocolate fudge.

Drifting on the calm waters of River Torrens and enveloped by healthy trees, the cozy Red Ochre Barrel and Grill is as scenic as they come.

However, it’s their true-blue South Australian servings that grabbed our attention the last time we were here.

We’re talking about dishes like fried crocodiles covered in mint, emu carpaccio flavored with native herbs, and kangaroo filets that popped with native currants.

Tip: Red Ochre Barrel and Grill offers an ideal setting for weddings.

Stella Restaurant

With high ceilings, alfresco seating, and striking ocean vistas, Stella offers a dining experience far from the city’s chaos.

Their Mediterranean menu is meticulously crafted. Our top pick goes to their seafood linguini, teeming with succulent prawns, tender calamari, and plump mussels.

But if you’re rolling with a date or a crew, go for the packed platters.

The Chef’s Special Platter is the most popular choice—for drool-worthy reasons. It has an assortment of dips, polenta chips, arancini, calamari, chicken wings, feta cheese, and more.

Tip: Book a table during sunset hours for a truly majestic view.

Utopia @ Waterfall Gully isn’t a thousand kilometers from the city center. However, its nature-centric location, complete with a waterfall, trees, and brooks, makes this century-old stone chalet resto appear like it’s worlds away.

Concerning the menu, it’s a mix of traditional single-person servings and orders fit for a banquet. There are 6-hour smoked ribs, Wagyu burgers, homemade gnocchis, and boards filled with eggs benny, veggies, and a myriad of meats.

They don’t lack in the refreshment department, too. You can freshen up with blends like pressed juices, smoothies, tea, wines, and, of course, cocktails.
