Through the Lens: Riverland’s Most Instagrammable Spots

What’s a holiday to the rustic, whimsical, and captivating Riverland without snagging some Insta-worthy moments? You know what they say about social media: pics or it never happened!

Well, time to wow your followers by going to Riverland’s best spots for photo ops. From the verdant vineyards to the wild wetlands, the places listed by our team below can take your Insta game to a whole new level.

Banrock Station Wine and Wetland Center

Address: Holmes Rd, Kingston on Murray SA 5331
Contact Details: (08) 8583 0299
Operating Hours: Daily – 9 am to 4 pm

Striking a pose with a radiant vineyard as your backdrop might sound like an Aussie cliche, but it works like a wizard’s spell every time.

This spot’s symphony of lush vegetation, brown soil, and deeply purple grapes creates a landscape that begs to be flaunted online.

In addition, Banrock Station Wine and Wetland Center is also surrounded by wetland wonders inhabited by waterbirds and fish (don’t worry, no crocodiles to photo-bomb you here).

We suggest looking for a boardwalk and using the glistening waters as a backdrop!

  • Our team recommends visiting during the golden hour when the setting sun casts a warm, golden glow over the vineyard and wetlands. Try to add a touch of whimsy to your post by saying, “It’s vine o’clock—time for some golden hour glam!”
  • Another Instagrammable shot you can take here is the harvest season’s hustle around February to April. The smiling grape-pickers as they reap the fruits of their labor make for wholesome snaps.

Whether a kangaroo hops into your frame or a cheeky magpie steals the spotlight, embrace the moment National Geographic-style, and take shots of the untamed wild!

  • If you’re not afraid to get your feet wet, you should beeline for Murray River’s riverbanks and capture the water’s calm flow or the weathered rock formations surrounding the area.
  • Why not up the ante by conquering the waters via kayaking? Just make sure to bring a pal who can paddle as you take pics of the unspoiled environment.

Lakeside zen is what your camera can capture at Lake Bonney, especially during sunset or sunrise when fiery reds and gold adorn the horizon and water like a natural filter.

Also, don’t forget to take snaps of funky houseboats, which add more colors to the skyline.

Our fearless team dared to spice things up with an adrenaline-fueled photo session, so we decided to pose aboard kayaks. Our cameras didn’t escape the wrath of splashes, but the shots were premier snapshots in time!
