The 5 Best Guitar Lesson Teachers in Adelaide's Homepage

The 6 Best Guitar Lesson Teachers in Adelaide

Credentials: When deciding where to take guitar lessons, the instructors' credentials should come first.

A bachelor's degree or higher in music, professional experience playing or recording music, and listenable recordings of music were among the things we checked.

Adaptability: We included good guitar instructors who will create supplemental materials with exercises or examples depending on your unique learning requirements.

We also looked into how acquainted they are with their clients’ goals and how they tailor-fit their lessons to work towards these goals.

Fees: We chose guitar instructors who offer good value for the money they want in exchange for their lessons. We also value how reasonably priced their lessons are; the higher the rating, the better the value for your money.

Some instructors also fail to list their lesson rates on their websites. We chose instructors who are open about their fees.

Policies: A skilled teacher probably has policies in place to safeguard their professional reputation and distribute accountability among students.

We chose instructors whose policies on specific payment terms, missing sessions, the potential for online meetups, and make-up classes were reasonable.

Pros

  • Convenient lesson schedules
  • Multiple locations across Adelaide
  • Curriculum focuses on efficient learning and practice
  • Special coaching available for groups and bands
  • Learning at school opportunities

Cons

  • Strict policies
  • Impatient instructors
  • Fees and charges only disclosed after confirmation of enrolment

Learning Through Music is a vibrant and inventive boutique music firm that offers guitar lessons and instrumental music programs in schools as well as studio training.

With multiple locations across Adelaide, their accessibility is the one thing we like most about them.

Learning Through Music also works with schools to provide children with in-school lessons.

They are very adjustable since they accommodate existing lesson plans as well as the availability of school facilities.

They also have convenient lesson schedules. Some lessons take place during school hours, while others take place after.

If you play guitar with a band or group of musicians, they provide particular instruction and technique classes for bands and groups.

Their expertly developed guitar curriculum will have pupils learning and improving quickly.

We are just a bit iffy with the focus being on efficient and rapid learning, as we found out that some instructors can grow impatient when they don’t see the results they hoped for in students.

Moreover, they have strict policies which can cost you additional charges if not followed properly.

Furthermore, the fees and charges are only disclosed to clients after confirmation of their enrolment. We find this unnecessary and believe access to the fee structure should be available readily or at least upon inquiry.

Pros

  • Bespoke learning plans
  • Multiple locations across Adelaide
  • Provides students opportunities to perform
  • Caters well to children and adult learners

Cons

  • Strict policies
  • Specializes more in piano lessons
  • Undisclosed fees structure

We commend Novar Music for providing bespoke learning plans to each of their students.

They are excellent at providing individualized attention and adjusting the learning environment for each student based on the student’s unique educational needs.

We were impressed by the range of performance chances they give their children.

For instance, they host performance events for pupils aged five to 12 and music and pizza nights for students aged 13 to 15.

Adult students also have the chance to perform throughout the year at events, exam performance panels, practicing recitals, and formal concert performances.

Unfortunately, they don’t list their lesson rates on their website, which is one thing we don’t like. We consider this to be ineffective, but a lot of teachers use it in order to try to get you to sign up for classes when you phone them.

Moreover, before enrolling, do note that they have strict policies, especially with missed lessons and cancellations.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that they are more renowned for offering high-quality piano lessons to their clients. Other teachers on this list may have more expertise in guitar.

Pros

  • Specializes in heavy metal music training
  • Sizable pool of highly skilled teachers
  • Caters to NDIS-approved clients
  • Attentive to students’ direction and needs when teaching

Cons

  • Policies and fees are not readily available
  • Niche learning style

If you are keen on pursuing a career in music, ARMI will equip you well. Their differentiating factor is that they specialize in heavy metal instrument training.

They have a sizable pool of instructors that are respected and active participants in the music industry.

They pay close attention to the needs of their students, and they adjust as they proceed with the class, which is another quality we admire in them.

We were even more impressed that they provide services to approved clients of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), and this is such a wonderful effort to be more inclusive in providing guitar training.

Students at ARMI get the chance to interact with well-known performing bands and recording artists from Australia and other countries.

Additionally, prominent guitarists like Joe Satriani and Paul Gilbert gave students a chance to jam with them live on stage. Many have also performed in bands with well-known Australian metal performers.

However, they don’t make their fees readily available along with their policies.

We find this to be such a bother because these details need to be available on their website so you won’t need to call them again if you’re not sure you want to enroll.

Moreover, if you are not fond of heavy metal and rock in general, you may want to look for other guitar lesson providers.

Despite this, we have to give it to them for welcoming students with interests in other genres and music styles. Exposing yourself to a genre you are not well-acquainted with might do wonders in your learning journey.

Pros

  • Tailored approach to teaching
  • Great at communicating with students
  • Great facilities
  • Clear fees structure
  • Large roster of guitar teachers
  • Conducts masterclasses and concerts

Cons

  • Enrollment by term
  • Strict cancellation policy

Pathways Music School is a family-run business comprising a group of tight-knit specialists. They are known for their tailored approach to teaching the guitar.

We got the chance to interview some of their students, and they appreciate how their instructors communicate well with them.

Each week, they also interact with parents, whether in person or via email. Lesson notes are delivered twice a term to parents they don’t get to see every week.

We admire how they have authored dozens of books of their own materials, which they mix with other books that the students can choose themselves.

They broaden their kids’ exposure and learning opportunities. They hold masterclasses, jam sessions, band practices, and their eagerly awaited end-of-year concert.

They also outline their fees structure in detail on their website. This puts you at ease and lets you know how much you need to invest in your musical learning journey.

However, you can only enroll in their guitar lessons by term, which means you need to be prepared to commit yourself to learning and practicing over the span of ten weeks.

This also means that you need to pay for the entire term automatically, either up front or by direct debit option.

Cancellation can also be a bit of a hassle. You must provide them notice of your intention to cancel your lessons by the end of the fifth week of the current term; however, the cancellation won’t take effect until the start of the next term.

Thankfully, they have a large roster of guitar instructors who are eager to learn about your needs as an aspiring musician and develop a strategy to achieve your short, medium, and long-term goals.

Pros

  • Specializes in classical guitar tuition
  • Professional studio
  • Great stepping stone and preparation for aspiring musicians
  • Reasonably priced
  • Multiple learning opportunities

Cons

  • No clear policies
  • Doesn’t offer online lessons

Tuske Guitar Academy is a family business led by both Andras and Erika Tuske.

They have produced a dozen highly regarded professional performers as well as current students who have won awards.

They concentrate in classical guitar training, theory, and music reading, which we love.

We also appreciate how their training is geared towards preparing aspiring musicians to take musical examinations, further studies, and other auditions for ensembles.

You won’t have to worry about breaking the bank to get quality training and musical education because their lessons are reasonably priced.

Along with this, they provide several learning opportunities to further immerse their students in their craft while getting exposure to improve performing abilities.

Consider their annual music camp, Christmas street performances, masterclasses, participation in the Adelaide International Guitar Festival Summer School, and touring with the South Australian Youth Guitar Ensemble.

However, they don’t make their policies for their guitar lessons readily available. Having to call them several times to ask about these matters is such a hassle.

Also, it’s a minor disadvantage that they do not offer online guitar lessons for those who can’t visit their location.
