Pros

  • Reasonable rates for small-medium businesses and regional ones
  • Comprehensive package
  • Recommendable for those who’ll need NDIS auditing
  • Can work with various industries (health, government, retail, etc.)

Cons

  • Not much experience with large businesses
  • Small team

UrbanHR is a great option for small to medium businesses because their fees are just right for them.

Their HR consultancy package is comprehensive, covering all basics (policy review, organizational restructuring, etc.) along with additional ones (National Disability Insurance Scheme auditing).

Their NDIS auditing system is one of the most organized I’ve seen. Kay, their expert for this, makes the process easy to understand and straightforward, according to many past clients.

They’re adept at adjusting depending on the industry. They’ve worked with businesses in sectors of health, government, retail, and more.

It’s also great how they’re able to support and provide reasonable rates for regional businesses (those in Broken Hill, Clare, Port Pirie, etc.).

Past clients also said that they’re professional in following schedules for online meetings and in responding to emails.

If there’s anything they can improve on, one is in making their services compatible with large corporations. Their experience is mostly with medium-sized and smaller businesses.

Also, their team is quite small, with only three members.

Pros

  • Works with companies of all scales
  • Creates specialized approach for each client
  • Fee-for-service billing
  • Professional and warm representatives

Cons

  • Only started in 2021
  • Small team of two

Harmonise HR is an excellent choice overall because they’ve worked with companies of all scales. Upon reviewing their track record, they’ve worked with companies from different industries without issue (IT, veterinary, orthodontics, etc.).

What makes the latter possible is that the company creates a unique approach (different HR software/templates) for each client. They match budgets, contract needs, organizational fit, and the like.

Many will appreciate their fee-for-service approach. They also don’t do lock-in contracts, which is especially helpful for businesses that are just starting or going through a transition phase.

Donna and Dave, the company’s owners, have received praise from clients for their warm and professional approach. They explain HR terminologies well and are consistent in providing timely responses.

That said, one slight downside of the company is that they’re younger than most HR consultants in Adelaide (started in 2021).

Another downside is that the team is small, with only two members.

Pros

  • Collectively has more than 50 years of experience
  • Great for companies undergoing massive HR changes
  • Comprehensive HR auditing process
  • Responsive and professional

Cons

  • Pricey
  • Insists on using their partner HR platform (EmploymentHero)

Essential HR stands out because their team has more than 50 years of working in HR. Most come from senior management roles, making their advice more reliable.

They’re also excellent for companies undergoing massive HR changes (organizational structure, recruitment system, etc.). Their staff has great experience in studying and implementing change management.

I also found their HR auditing process to be comprehensive in scope (includes risk consultation, adherence to laws, recruitment practices, etc.). They provide detailed reports that are free from jargon.

Past clients I talked to had no complaints about their response times and adherence to schedules for meetings. In addition, their representatives are professional and make the most out of meeting times.

That said, I found their fees to be pricier compared to their competitors. Also, their consistent promotion of the HR platform EmploymentHero (their official partner) may not appeal to everyone.

Pros

  • Large team of 9
  • Can work with companies in different industries
  • Comprehensive consultation services
  • Expertise in organizational development

Cons

  • Pricey fees
  • Takes some time to respond to emails (about a couple of days late)

BespokeHR has one of the largest teams of HR professionals in Adelaide. They have 9 professionals with decades of experience in the industry onboard.

This large size allows them to handle businesses of all varieties.

In fact, a quick look at their past clients shows their flexibility, as they’ve worked with companies of different sizes (small to large) and industries (hospitality, government, retail).

Most of their clients have worked with them for at least 5 years.

They make their HR advice for the company easy to integrate into its day-to-day system, and they provide comprehensive and immersive learning resources.

These resources are comprehensive in scope, including topics like mental health in the workplace, work culture, code of conduct, and more.

One of their specialities is consultation for organizational development. This consultation can cover talent identification, performance reviews, workforce planning and development, and more.

However, when it comes to downsides, one that I’ve seen is their fees are pricey. Another one is that they take some time to respond to emails (about a couple of days late).

Pros

  • Great prices and services for small businesses
  • Expertise in team dynamics
  • Has a DIY HR package that makes it easy for non-HR personnel to manage policies, performance reviews, etc.
  • Responsive and professional

Cons

  • Mostly caters to small businesses
  • Small team of 3

The Engaged Space’s expertise is in providing HR advice for small businesses. They’re great with improving team dynamics through management training, workshops, and organizational culture tailoring.

Many of their past clients have had great results with fixing team conflict and addressing issues of role ambiguity.

One of their best offerings is the DIY HR package that provides guides for policies, performance reviews, and employment agreements. The content is comprehensive and applicable to many industries.

They’re easy to do business with because they’re professional and responsive from start to finish. Many past clients said they felt well-guided throughout.

Most importantly, their rates are friendly for the smallest businesses, making them a great choice for starting ones.

When it comes to downsides, however, one is that they mostly cater to small businesses. Also, their team is smaller compared to other HR consulting companies (only 3).
