You knead the best massage schools in Adelaide for a glowing career in bodywork!

Longevity: Dodgy schools barely last, so we examined registries, LinkedIn profiles, and company histories to select massage schools with at least five years of experience.

Reputation: Our team read feedback and spoke with potential employees to assess the industry standing of schools. Those with access to a larger network scored higher, especially if that network features international companies.

Credentials: Databases and physical documents helped us determine whether a school and its courses or programs are accredited, certified, and/or Government-recognised. Awards influenced the grades as well.

Teaching Approach and Range: Schools that focus on “active learning” and multiple massage techniques were favoured. For verification, we interviewed clients and reviewed course outlines.

Pricing: By measuring potential ROI, facility standards, and the quality of education against the overall fees students often pay, cost-efficiency was gauged.

Lately, more Adelaide locals have been getting into wellness and non-invasive ways to manage pain. That has pushed up the demand for qualified massage therapists, opening doors for those looking to make it a sustainable career path.

But you can’t just waltz into a spa and start kneading backs from day one, though. To make a proper go of it, one must acquire the right skills and paperwork (qualifications these therapists have).

You can obtain both from the best massage schools in Adelaide below. Their programs and instructors have produced students who go on to work in medical centres, wellness spots, and sports clinics.

Producing job-ready therapists is standard at Evolve College Adelaide. Within three months, 92% of graduates land jobs.

Such is the case when you’re nationally recognised. The school is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) with strong industry ties, chiefly a partnership with Blys, often considered Australia’s best mobile massage provider (learn more about them here!).

Those who complete their flagship course (Diploma in Remedial Massage) are also eligible for private health fund provider numbers. It allows them to offer rebates, attracting more paying clients.

Format flexibility is another perk. Evolve combines in-person and interactive online lessons.

The downside? Some might argue their once-a-month campus days are too short for hands-on learning.

Email replies can be a tad sluggish, too. One had to wait 5 days for a reply.

But we’re not moaning about the financial terms: paying upfront or through VET Student Loans is possible. There’s even a 2-day introductory course for testing the waters.

Pros

  • Has a connection with Blys
  • 92% of graduates find jobs in 3 months
  • Has a 2-day introductory class
  • 16-plus locations across the country

Cons

  • Can be slow to reply
  • Only meets in person once a month

This course provided me with a solid foundation

I recently completed my remedial massage course at Evolve College Adelaide, and I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience. The instructors are not only highly knowledgeable but also genuinely passionate about teaching and supporting their students.

I especially appreciated the hands-on training, which helped me build confidence and refine my skills in real-world scenarios.

The small class sizes allowed for personalised attention, ensuring that everyone received the support they needed to succeed. The administrative staff were always friendly and efficient, making the whole enrolment and learning process smooth and stress-free.

Overall, this course provided me with a solid foundation in remedial massage, and I feel confident in my ability to pursue a career in this field.

I highly recommend Evolve College Adelaide to anyone looking to gain expertise in remedial massage!

Massage for Inner Health is the school to attend if you’re looking for specialised and shorter courses delivered in small groups, typically 1:1. Most sessions here last for only a day or two.

Tapping into a niche market is among the boons of the setup. Therapists who already hold the paperwork can expand their toolkit by learning about hot stone massages, acupressure, craniosacral therapy, fire cupping, and more.

You’re not paying thousands either. Last we checked (April 2026), courses were priced between $250 and $650.

This isn’t an RTO, just so you know. While Massage for Inner Health has IICT-accredited courses, we’ve seen better clinical pathway options.

It’s all face-to-face training as well, so yeah, you have to schedule properly.

On the upside, Tanya Oakes, a Remedial Massage Therapist with 16-plus years of experience, leads the classes.

Pros

  • Shorter, cheaper courses
  • Holistic course selection
  • Led by a seasoned therapist (16-plus years)
  • Provides take-home kits

Cons

  • Limited formal recognition
  • In-person only

Flexible

Tanya is super professional while being down to earth and flexible. She created a safe, welcoming space for our group of women who all felt comfortable enough to relax and receive Tanya’s compassionate energy and respectful touch despite a busy, noisy setting. Highly recommended.

Calming Nature

Tanya has helped ease my body and my mind many times over the years. Her skills and calming nature along with the environment she provides has allowed the deep massage she gives to work its wonders. I have always felt uplifted, a sense of freeness within my body and mind after time spent with Tanya.

Starting your career at Hyde Park College of Skin & Body Therapy is a smart move. For one, this is a 41-year-old training institution.

Better still, graduates can go abroad, owing largely to their CIDESCO- and CIBTAC-accredited diplomas. One of those is their Holistic Massage Diploma.

That’s one aptly-named program. It comprises different modalities, namely pregnancy massage, Indian head massage, and lymphatic drainage massage.

It’s worth noting, however, that admission isn’t guaranteed. They review applications in detail.

And as you’d expect from a school whose alumni mostly end up in prestigious local and international spas (including some in Singapore), the workload is heavy here.

Good thing students can still keep their routine. Both part-time and full-time programs are offered, alongside short courses and evening classes.

We also like that applicants get a tour of the school, and those visiting during class hours enjoy a complimentary treatment from a student!

Pros

  • Operating for over 41 years
  • Internationally recognised diplomas
  • Also has courses for beauty treatments
  • Flexible learning formats

Cons

  • Admission isn’t locked in
  • Not for casual learning

Their dedication and expertise have made my learning journey truly enriching

I am currently studying the Diploma in Beauty Therapy at Hyde Park College, and I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience. The college principal, Dianne, is amazing, and our lecturer, Denise, is equally incredible. Their dedication and expertise have made my learning journey truly enriching. Both Dianne and Denise have so much experience and knowledge of the beauty industry and working within the high standards set by CIDESCO and CIBTAC. Having completed my first semester in aesthetics, I can confidently say that I have learned so much more than I would have at other beauty colleges in SA. The learning material is very in-depth, yet it is taught in a way that we, as students, can easily understand and apply. I highly recommend Hyde Park College to anyone interested in pursuing a career in beauty therapy, or other short-courses in beauty!

Body Solutions Massage Training isn’t a one-technique school. Koi, the founder, created an integrative system with Thai massage at the core, and it has been going strong for over 10 years.

In practice, students pick up skills involving authentic postural assessments, Thai bodywork, myofascial techniques, acupressure, and many more.

Just note that you may find more suitable options for obtaining nationally- and internationally-recognised certificates. Much like our second option, this school is best for expanding into niche areas, not for starting out.

Classes also stay small, so you’d be wise to book in advance, particularly for the shorter workshops.

We have no gripes with the formats, though. Apart from face-to-face sessions, students learn through self-paced and even live online training.

Booking Koi for a hands-on taste of her expertise is also possible. The school doubles as a spa.

Pros

  • Operating for over 10 years
  • Highly flexible course formats
  • Great for upskilling
  • Specialises in integrative massage

Cons

  • Not the best choice for starters
  • Limited booking slots

Exceptional

I saw Koi for Remedial Massage – she was exceptional! Very knowledgable & professional in all aspects. I felt very good after treatment and would thoroughly recommend.

Sharon Burgess, Google Review

My experience was great.

Koi is the best, lovely and helpful. My experience was great. I studied Unlock Fascia: An Introduction to My fascial Massage (20 hours). Good time frame for my busy life. The way a teacher taught me was easy understanding and also the materials she provided to help me to complete all of the content were really great. I feel confident to start the new career with this.

Did you know that Discover Massage Australia can fast-track your career without ditching MAA and IICT certifications, which are recognised by 39-plus countries? Yep, and that has been true since 1997.

Seasoned therapists with backgrounds in chiropractic work, anatomy education, remedial massage, and sports therapy drive that outcome. The majority hold classes on weekends.

Kylie is among the highest-rated ones. Her career spans 26-plus years, and lots of students, most of whom are working now, claim her hands-on style is easy to follow, even for beginners.

Many also love that she teaches body mechanics and injury prevention, including how to maintain healthy joints or tendons for a longer career.

The drawback is you may not lock her in right away, or any other trainer for that matter. Discover Massage is arguably the most popular school here.

Another weak point is the lack of complementary programs. Massage is their sole focus.

Pros

  • Open since 1997
  • Fast, practical courses
  • Lessons are digestible
  • Provides internationally recognised paperwork

Cons

  • No courses for complementary therapies
  • Incredibly high demand = limited slots

Great Learning Experience

I completed the Discover Massage whole body massage course in Adelaide over a weekend and couldn’t be happier. The content was practical, well structured, and easy to follow, with plenty of hands-on practice. The standout was Kylie, our instructor. She’s knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely supportive, taking time to ensure everyone felt confident with techniques and body mechanics. Kylie’s real-world tips and calm teaching style made learning enjoyable and effective. The venue was welcoming, resources were clear, and the pace was perfect for beginners or refreshers. I would highly recommend this course if you want solid skills fast and a great learning experience.
