Pros
- Good value for money
- Very convenient location
- Spacious rooms
- Buffet continental-style breakfast
- Good view from the rooms
Cons
- Pets aren’t allowed
- Rooms’ overall cleanliness can be improved
- Quite rundown building
The Prince Lodge Motel first served as a private mansion for Arthur Waterhouse in 1913 before it was converted into a motel.
At present, the motel offers 23 rooms of various styles and proportions. The rooms are subdivided into three categories: deluxe rooms, budget rooms, and standard rooms.
Deluxe rooms offer queen-sized beds, an en suite toilet, and shower facilities.
The budget rooms have double-sized beds, but the toilet and showers—not shared—are outside the room.
The standard rooms are in the Coach House with en suite showers.
What we like about Princes Lodge Motel is how cheap the rates are. One night stay at the motel can cost from 100 AUD to 160 AUD.
The rooms are spacious, too, giving you the best space possible for the price you are paying.
However, we do think that the room’s cleanliness can be improved. Some customers have also expressed disappointment about the cleanliness, especially in the bathroom.
The location is also very convenient for travellers. It is on the free city bus route and is near shops, restaurants, and cafes.
The continental buffet breakfast is also an advantage of Princes Lodge Motel. Customers can just stay at the motel if they want breakfast.
We, however, hope that renovations can be made in certain parts of the motel, as they appear to be quite rundown. This is understandable, as the motel was established decades ago.
If you are also looking to bring pets, consider checking out other places, as Princes Lodge Motels do not allow pets.

Pros
- Cheap rates
- Friendly staff
- Convenient location
- Spacious rooms
- Includes microwave inside the room
Cons
- Can be noisy
- Pets are not allowed
- Rooms’ overall cleanliness can be improved
- No website, receives bookings through third-party sites
Another motel in Adelaide that deserves a spot on this list is Fullarton Motor Lodge. The motel offers one of the lowest rates in Adelaide at 100 AUD to 120 AUD for a night.
The motel is right by the main road, and a bus stop stands directly in front of it, making it very convenient and accessible to everyone. It is also only 5 kilometres away from Adelaide City Centre.
The rooms are decent looking and spacious enough. Some rooms may look outdated, but they are comfortable enough to sleep in.
The rooms also include a microwave inside, so you can heat the foods you bought on the way.
The staff are also very polite and friendly. They are willing to answer your questions and help you with any of your needs.
The only downside is that it can get noisy sometimes. As the motel is near the main road, you can hear trucks and cars passing by.
The rooms can also use some more cleaning. The bedsheets and pillows need a more thorough cleaning.
Pets are also not allowed, so it is advised that you do not bring your pets if you’re planning to stay at this motel.
Unfortunately, the hotel also doesn’t have a website. You have to book a room through third-party sites.
Still, we think it’s worthy of a spot on this list. We believe this is the best choice for those who do not want to break the bank but need a place to stay for a few nights.

Pros
- Convenient location
- 4-star accommodation
- Option for spacious rooms
- Accommodating staff
- Suites with kitchen
Cons
- Can be noisy
- Quite pricey compared to other motels
- No pets allowed
If you want to enjoy the beauty of Glenelg Beach but don’t know where to stay, then this motel might be what you are looking for.
Located opposite the Colley Reserve and adjacent to Moseley Square is Ensenada Motor Inn & Suites. It’s a four-star accommodation that provides a beautiful view of the Beachouse Amusement Park and Glenelg Beach.
The rooms in the motel are spacious and beautifully designed. You can choose between the deluxe twin room and the executive queen room.
Ensenada also offers suite rooms that come with a kitchen. You may check them out if you want a bigger space.
Unfortunately, the motel rooms are quite pricey compared to the other motels on this list. They are still relatively cheaper than hotels, so if you don’t mind spending a little bit more, this is perfect for you.
It can also get noisy when the streets become crowded. If you’re sensitive to noise, ask the staff to place you in the rooms at the back.
Pets are also not allowed in this motel.
With all these in mind, we think this is the best place to stay for those who want to enjoy Glenelg.
4. Adelaide International Motel

Pros
- Convenient location
- Has a lift in the building
- Spacious and clean room
Cons
- No pets allowed
- Can be noisy
Another motel near Glenelg Beach is Adelaide International Motel. It’s a ten-minute walk from Moseley Square and Jetty Road and a ten-minute drive from Adelaide Domestic & International Airport.
Our favourite thing about Adelaide International Motel, aside from its location, is the fact that it has a lift inside the building. Using the stairs while carrying luggage can be challenging and tiresome, so the lift is convenient for customers.
The rooms are also newly renovated!
The rooms used to be dated and rundown. The renovation was very much needed and significantly helped give customers a better experience.
They also take cleanliness seriously. The rooms and the bathrooms were well-maintained and spacious.
One downside, however, is the noise of passing trucks and cars, as it’s near the highway. This is a common occurrence in motels near busy roads and places.
We would also like to caution you that only special needs pets are allowed by the establishment. You will also need to talk to management about your special needs pets before they are allowed in.

Pros
- Clean and newly renovated rooms
- Decent parking space
- Quiet
- Convenient location
Cons
- Quite pricey compared to other motels
- Short-staffed
- No website, receives bookings through third-party sites
HotelMOTEL is another popular motel for those looking for a convenient place to stay at when visiting CBD. Noise is not a common concern for their visitors despite being on a highway, which is an added plus to their handy location.
The motel is still in CBD but is at a distance enough not to hear the noises from the busy city.
The newly renovated rooms of HotelMOTEL are what actually caught our attention. The comfortable beds and modern rooms provide a pleasant stay to visitors.
The housekeeping also does a great job keeping the rooms clean for the next occupants.
The decent parking space is also an advantage for the motel. It provides extra convenience for travellers who bring their cars with them.
We have to warn you, though, that it’s a few dollars more pricey than other motels on this list. The price, however, is still very reasonable for what you are getting and the quality of the rooms.
Lastly, we believe that if the management hires more staff to serve the customers, the motel’s service will significantly improve.
