Pros

  • Accredited by the Australian Commission on Safety & Quality in Health Care’s National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards
  • Experienced and qualified pool of oral surgeons
  • Extensive range of services

Cons

  • Few instances of misleading quotation
  • Customer service can be improved

Advanced Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is one of Adelaide’s leading oral and maxillofacial surgery centres.

Although it’s relatively new and was only established in 2016, its surgeons are packed with years of experience. They have a combined experience of over 40 years, so patients are assured that they have enough knowledge to help.

We also feel even more confident with their services after learning that they’re accredited by the Australian Commission on Safety & Quality in Health Care’s National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards.

Another thing we love about this clinic is its extensive range of services, allowing them to meet whatever surgical needs that patient may have.

They specialise in dental implants, wisdom teeth extraction, and jaw correction, but they can also do other surgical procedures.

The only drawbacks would be the misleading quotations and customer service.

There are instances when quotations are not explained properly. Quotations are also sometimes significantly different from the actual fee, which causes patients a lot of stress and frustration.

Some staff are also quite rude and abrasive, making patients even more uncomfortable.

Pros

  • Qualified and experienced surgeons
  • Less painful procedures
  • Professional staff

Cons

  • Can be hard to book at times
  • Closed on weekends

Oral surgeries can be daunting, as they are invasive procedures that can cause discomfort and pain. Fortunately, Adelaide Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery has an excellent pool of surgeons, making the procedure less painful.

Former patients have consistently complimented the staff and surgeons at the clinic for their professionalism and patient care. They repeatedly assure patients and answer their questions, from the front desk to the anaesthetist to the surgeons.

The surgeon is also very gentle with the procedure, and you’ll be surprised it’s already done. His calm demeanour positively affects the patients, making the procedure as pain-free as possible.

This surgeon is Dr Ramon Baba, a qualified oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He’s supported by a team of skilled dentists who either have a postgraduate degree in oral surgery or are currently training to become oral surgeons.

While the overall patient care is excellent, the booking process may leave some disappointed and frustrated. There are times when they’re fully booked, and you’ll have difficulty looking for an available schedule.

They’re also closed on weekends, so you really have to make time on weekdays.

Pros

  • Same-day consultation and treatment
  • Qualified and personal surgeon
  • Excellent patient care

Cons

  • There’s a wait time despite having an appointment
  • Only one surgeon

Max Oral Surgery may only have one oral surgeon, but they’re not falling behind when it comes to quality and variety of service.

Dr Bill Oberdan has been providing oral and maxillofacial surgery services for over 10 years. He has the experience and credentials to do just about any oral surgery you might need.

He has worked with several hospitals and has gained knowledge beyond his diplomas, so we’re able to trust his expertise when it comes to oral surgery.

Apart from the clinic’s highly skilled surgeon, we also love that they can do same-day consultation and treatment upon request. This makes treatment more accessible for those who live away from the city.

Their excellent patient care also adds to why many past patients just won’t stop raving about the clinic. Everyone goes above and beyond, from the front desk to the surgeon, to make the treatment stress-free and comfortable for the patients.

There’s just a bit of wait time when you arrive despite having a scheduled appointment. This is because some treatments and consultations take longer than expected.

Expect to wait 30 minutes at most for your appointment, as Dr Oberdan can get really busy.

Pros

  • Extensive range of services
  • Large pool of surgeons
  • Has a 24-hour emergency contact service
  • Qualified and experienced surgeons

Cons

  • Patient care can be improved
  • Actual cost is sometimes bigger than the quote

Oromax Clinic and Day Surgery is one of Adelaide’s highest-rated and most trusted oral surgery clinics. The clinic is located in Kent Town, less than 10 minutes from CBD, making it accessible to patients.

What we love about this clinic is its large pool of oral surgeons. Among the clinics on this list, Oromax has the largest pool of surgeons, which allows them to accommodate more patients.

Additionally, the surgeons are highly knowledgeable, having finished their degrees in dental surgery at some of the best universities in Australia and New Zealand. They’re also backed with years of experience and training.

The surgeons’ credentials also ensure us that they’re capable of performing the services that they offer.

Another thing we love about this clinic is its 24-hour emergency contact service that allows patients to contact them anytime in case they need immediate care.

While surgeons are great at performing surgeries and fixing problems, we think they can do better in patient care. We believe that making the patient comfortable before the procedure is also a part of the job.

They also need to explain the procedure costs more to the patient, as there are instances when the actual cost is significantly bigger than the quote, leaving patients confused.

Pros

  • Accredited with Quality Innovation Performance
  • Uses modern technology
  • Extensive range of services
  • Easy booking process

Cons

  • Doesn’t provide an estimate without an initial consultation
  • Only one surgeon

Adelaide MaxFax is accredited with Quality Innovation Performance, ensuring a safe and reliable oral surgery procedure for patients.

In addition, the clinic’s surgeon is a specialist fellow at the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and a member of the Australian & NZ Association of Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons.

What we love about this clinic is its use of modern technology to provide the utmost care to patients.

They use a 3Shape TRIOS 3 intraoral scanner to get a digital impression of the upper and lower jaws without causing much discomfort to patients.

We also appreciate how easy the booking process is. They’re easy to contact and are very honest with their available dates.

They only have one surgeon, so it’s understandable that there are days when they’re packed. No worries, though, as the staff will help you find a day that works for you.

Just note that they don’t provide quotations without any initial consultation. To get an estimate for your treatment, you’ll have to go to the clinic and get a consultation first.
