Pros

  • Psychologist has more than 20 years of experience
  • Complete list of services
  • Transparent with fees
  • Easily processes insurance

Cons

  • Clinic is small

Right Path Psychology is led by Humera Rafiq, who is notable for her 20 years of psychological experience.

She has applied her expertise in many areas, including the government, corporate sector, and even with indigenous Australians and refugees.

Her professional demeanor is praised by many for being motivational and enthusiastic. Because of this, many of her patients stick to the clinic after a couple of sessions.

Their services provided are complete, and they include relationship counseling, depression and anxiety treatment, stress management, and more.

We like how upfront they are with their fees. In fact, a complete list of this can be seen on their website.

They have one of the largest fee deductions for when you pay out-of-pocket, making them an affordable choice.

There are also no issues with their insurance system, as they’re connected to major companies like Medibank, Medicare, and Bupa.

We didn’t find any major issues with their clinic, as it is well-maintained and adequately designed. The waiting room is a bit small, though.

Because of this, it’s best to arrive only a couple of minutes before your appointment if you’re not fond of waiting.

Pros

  • Has many practitioners
  • Provides many services
  • Active in serving the community
  • Good for those who need NDIS

Cons

  • Highly in demand

Connected Self is a great choice if you want to have access with multiple practitioners. As of writing, they house six psychologists.

They’re notable for being active in the community through their support of various organizations, such as The Salvation Army, Practice Institute Australia, and Whitelion.

The services they provide are broad. Aside from clinical services, they also provide art therapy, outdoor programs for the youth, and psychological training.

In terms of qualifications, their psychologists have one of the most diverse sets of qualifications we’ve seen. They have expertise in fields such as biochemistry, developmental disabilities, and more.

This makes them excellent for handling clients from different age groups, communities, and experiences.

If you’re qualified under the National Disability Insurance Scheme, they’re a good choice, as they have many staff members dedicated to this.

Most of them are social workers who have much experience in handling various cases for marginalized and disadvantaged communities.

As we can see, Connected Self is a very great choice because of its broad services and active community participation.

However, this makes them very high in demand.

Because of this, you may have some difficulty booking a session during peak hours and days with them. Be sure to plan in advance to be able to find a slot.

Pros

  • Diverse backgrounds of psychologists
  • Good for the deaf community
  • Easy booking service
  • Finalist for Telstra Best of Business Award

Cons

  • Often fully booked per month

Better Self Psychology is a standout for us because of the varied experiences of their clinical psychologists.

For example, they have an expert specifically for family issues. Tamika Christoforou has much experience in these matters and a good track record for her Family-Centered Feedback-Informed Therapy.

Rebecca Sharkey, on the other hand, primarily handles school-related issues for children, teenagers, and young adults.

Additionally, she’s also active in working with the deaf community, making her an excellent professional to work with if you’re part of it.

Lastly is Lauren Frensham, who mainly takes on anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues. She’s praised by many for her calm and supportive demeanor in therapy.

We like their social initiative project named Connect, which provides a safe online space for teenagers to communicate and establish social skills.

In addition, they were one of the State Finalists for the Telstra Best of Business Award, which gives distinctions to small-to-medium businesses in South Australia.

Finally, we like how easy it is to use their booking tool. It even has specific options if you are availing of the service under insurance, which we appreciate.

In short, they’re notable for their diverse expertise, community service, and convenience.

If there’s an issue to take note of, though, it’s that they’re often fully booked per month. This makes it harder for new clients to avail of their services.

Pros

  • Broad expertise of psychologists
  • Employs many therapy methods
  • Large team
  • Well-designed clinic

Cons

  • Has an issue with confidentiality

Kensington Psychology & Well-Being is an easy choice because of their convenient location near Adelaide’s eastern suburbs.

They offer excellent couple’s counseling. Many clients have testified about the effectiveness of their psychologist’s work for this.

The clinic offers one of the broadest lists of services we’ve seen. It’s complete and can address post-trauma, stress, self-esteem, and other issues.

Another expertise of theirs is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is effective for treating PTSD. It’s evidence-based and has shown good results.

They have one of the largest psychologist teams, with ten highly-qualified experts.

We like how they specialize in different treatments, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

It also helps that their clinic is comfortable and well-designed. Clients will feel at ease because of its relaxing ambiance.

Because of this, they’re excellent for addressing most psychological issues you may have. The only downside we’ve seen is that they received some complaints about confidentiality.

Specifically, one client experienced having their information sent to the wrong address. While accidental, it’s still something that you should take note of.

Pros

  • Has a large team
  • Expertise in trauma-related issues
  • Well-designed booking tool
  • Quick response to phone and email

Cons

  • Often fully booked

Davies & Robertson Psychology is another clinic that has many psychologists available. They have excellent qualifications, as all of them exceed six years’ worth of university credentials.

They are also members of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

One of their most recommended psychologists is Dr. Matt Davies, who has great expertise in addressing trauma-related issues.

Aside from this, they have representatives dedicated to children, depression, phobia, and stress-related problems.

We like the booking tool on their website, as it gives you adequate space to expound on your issues prior to seeing a professional.

Through this, they can match you with one that can best handle your case.

It also helps that their phone and email representatives are quick to respond.

Finally, they process insurance and rebate paperwork seamlessly. In addition, they have affordable rates.

Because of this, we highly recommend the clinic. Just be sure to book in advance, as their professionals are often fully booked weeks in advance.

If you’re not willing to wait to get an appointment, they are other entries on this list much suitable for you.
