Pros

  • Can cater to different age ranges
  • Teaches many swimming styles
  • Affordable swimming lesson rates
  • 3 pools

Cons

  • Often fully booked
  • Needs membership for access to sauna and steam room

Adelaide Aquatic Centre is a great choice because of their extensive list of lessons taught. They provide classes to every age group, from children to older adults.

We like how easy it is to observe your progress through their Seven Level System. Here, your abilities as a swimmer including endurance, water safety, and practical components are ranked.

In addition, it is given child-friendly names like “Octopus” and “Shark,” which can encourage younger students to continue learning.

You’ll get a more affordable deal through their state-sponsored sports vouchers. It reduces $100 from the lessons for students in year 7 and below.

Aside from this, their adult swimming lessons are affordable at $22. It’s easy to sign up for a lesson too because their website has a straightforward design.

If swimming for sports is your aim, they’ve got you covered through their Squad Program. Here, highly-qualified teachers with years of training can teach younger students athletic swimming skills.

The center’s facilities are top-notch, as it has three pools maintained at 29 degrees Celsius year-round. They’re also open all year long except for Christmas, making them highly accessible.

That said, Adelaide Aquatic Centre is the go-to place for swimming in the city, which means they are often fully booked.

Aside from this, you’ll have to be a member of the center to get access to their sauna and steam room. Unfortunately, their rates for this are pricey.

Pros

  • Well-maintained facilities
  • Has many swimming class variations
  • Good for infants and athletic children
  • Good for water therapy

Cons

  • Has received complaints of rude staff
  • Appointments are easily filled

SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre was made in partnership with YMCA, which helps in maintaining both the facilities and their community.

Their swimming lessons have a good variety, as they include lap, leisure, rehab, and basic. We like the way their instructors conduct interviews before lessons to know your preference and health conditions.

We were impressed by their facility because of its large space and accessibility. The latter is especially seen with their ramp access, lifts, and inclusive changing rooms.

They are a great choice for individuals undergoing rehabilitation, as they have dedicated shallow pools for this purpose. They can work with physiotherapists for your treatment.

Another highlight of theirs is the programs they have for infants and children. In particular, we like the aqua sensory play program, as it is good for familiarizing young ones with water.

Furthermore, they are good for athletic children because of their WiBit water obstacle course which trains the young athletes’ endurance and mobility.

If there’s a downside to them, one is that some clients complained about encountering rude lifeguards and staff.

Aside from this, it’s hard to book an appointment, as their classes are easily filled up. It’s hard to receive a timely response from their customer support too.

Pros

  • Cozy pool temperature of 32°C
  • Offers many swimming style lessons for all ages
  • Accommodating instructors
  • Child-friendly ambiance

Cons

  • Small pool
  • Limited parking space

Paragon Swim Centre is notable for having a constant pool temperature of 32 degrees Celsius, making it friendly for all ages.

Their swimming lessons are for different ages and swimming styles. They can cater to students as young as six months!

Aside from standard swimming lessons, their water aerobic and aqua classes for seniors are praised by clients for being lively and energetic. It’s made possible by their highly accommodating instructors.

If you prefer practicing on your own, they have self-paced sessions and lap swimming lanes too.

One of their best programs is called Squad Skill Based, which is noted for its intensive and effective lessons. With eight to ten students per class, the students are given proper attention.

We also appreciate the child-friendliness of the place. It is filled with many colorful illustrations and decorations.

However, what we didn’t like about them is that their pool is smaller compared to others in Adelaide. This leaves little space for recreation if there are ongoing classes.

Another thing is that they have limited spaces for parking. This can be inconvenient for those who will attend during peak hours.

Pros

  • Affordable fees
  • Good for competitive swimming training
  • Comprehensive aqua fitness classes
  • Good student-to-teacher ratio

Cons

  • Limited class size
  • Facilities need better maintenance

Thebarton Aquatic Centre is a great choice for swimming lessons in Adelaide because of their affordable fees and intensive programs.

They can cater to 13 levels of swimming competence, making them great for students who want a challenging learning experience.

We like how they conduct water classes for babies which are filled with songs and energetic activities to make the sessions also engaging for parents.

In addition, their aqua fitness classes are comprehensive. These include water aerobics, Tabata interval training, deep water aqua, and seasonal lessons.

It’s why they can accommodate clients with different needs such as water therapy, muscle relaxation, muscle toning, and endurance building.

Plus, their instructor-to-student ratio is good. This allows students to receive more attention while they learn.

That said, there are a couple of downsides to them.

First, their pool is small, which makes their class sizes limited too. Prospective students may find it hard to find a slot.

Aside from this, some clients have complained about their facilities. For example, some said that their pool is cloudy and has too much chlorine.

Pros

  • Well established
  • Advanced water filtration methods
  • Many swimming programs offered
  • Great for water physiotherapy sessions

Cons

  • Pricey rates
  • Uncooperative customer service staff

State Swim is one of the most known swim schools in Australia. With over 50 years in the business, they’ve catered to over 30,000 students in both Australia and Singapore.

It’s hard to go wrong with their team because of their good qualifications. These include affiliations with the Registered Training Organization and certificates for Active Training Swimming Instruction.

When it comes to facilities, you’ll be glad to hear that they use up-to-date filtration and treatment methods for their pools. They use ultraviolet technology to lessen dependence on chlorine.

Another highlight of their service is how easy it is to book a schedule. This is through their well-designed website where you can easily view classes based on age, location, skill, and more.

They provide many swimming programs too that differ based on age, competence, and difficulty. They can handle clients looking for competitive programs and those who only want basic lessons.

In addition, they conduct physiotherapy sessions well with the aid of their well-trained staff. They’re a great choice for those who want rehabilitation after having a stroke.

We’re just a bit iffy about their rates, as these are pricey compared to other swimming schools in Adelaide. Still, given their facilities and their staff’s qualifications, the fees are reasonable.

Another concern of ours is that they’ve received multiple complaints about their customer service. Some clients found them rude and uncooperative.
