Pros

  • Compatible with different ages and skill levels
  • Has many venues available
  • Conducts cardio sessions well
  • Friendly and comfortable atmosphere

Cons

  • Pricey
  • Limited sessions

Helen Rice is a great tennis coaching school in Adelaide for students of any skill or age. It’s because they have an extensive list of classes offered.

I took their adult tennis lessons and had a great experience overall.

First, their registration process was convenient. They sent me a response within the same day when I signed up through their website.

They provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere in classes. Their coaches, especially Head Coach Dom, were friendly and professional in all the sessions I attended.

One of their best offerings is Cardio Tennis, which is energetic, competitive, and compatible with all fitness levels.

The music they play helped in boosting our mood while playing too.

It helps that they provide the first session free so that you can determine whether the program is for you.

The session felt comfortable, as they weren’t pushy with their service.

They have three available venues, including one in Netherby, Denman Terrace, and Bellevue Heights. This makes them very accessible.

Each of these venues has excellent facilities. The tennis courts are well-maintained and have many courts.

That said, their rates are a bit pricey compared to other tennis coaches in Adelaide. Aside from this, many of their sessions are fully booked in advance because of their high demand.

Pros

  • Great for children’s coaching sessions
  • Headed by highly-qualified coaches
  • Great with providing feedback
  • Good for group coaching sessions

Cons

  • Doesn’t have female tennis coaches
  • Pricey rates

Tiger Tennis’ strength lies in its coordination with local institutions like Burnside Primary, Parkside Primary, and Seymour College to make it convenient to enroll.

Sessions here are friendly and social. Its coaches encourage friendly competition and are especially great with handling children of different tempers.

Its coaches’ qualifications are sound, as they’re headed by Dane Bennett, one of South Australia’s top junior players. He had toured San Diego and San Francisco for the National Tennis Championships.

The school is great at providing private coaching sessions because it collaborates with students thoroughly. The staff regularly informs you about your progress within the 10-week term.

If you’re more comfortable with group sessions, the school is also a great choice because it provides equal attention to students. From what we’ve seen, it’s also great at establishing rapport with children.

That said, we wish the school hires female tennis coaches too, as some students may prefer being taught by one.

Aside from this, their rates are pricier than other tennis coaches in Adelaide. It’s due to the extensive qualifications of their coaches.

Pros

  • Well-qualified coaches
  • Conducts team training sessions well
  • Has coached many award-winning players
  • Has 14 courts

Cons

  • Not the best if you want a more casual experience
  • Small clubhouse

Peake Gardens Riverside Tennis Club is coached by highly qualified coaches Ben Milner and Li Tu. Both have professionally completed and have received awards for their coaching.

One of their best offerings is team training sessions. They’re made to match different skill levels, and the coaches in the program are intensive in applying rules, etiquette, and strategies for tennis.

Their approach is more rigorous than some tennis clubs we’ve seen. It’s why they’re excellent for those who want to train for competitive tennis playing.

They have an excellent track record for junior-level coaching. Many of their players have received awards at national championships.

When it comes to facilities, we have no issues with them because they have 14 courts. Their tennis club is open even at night, giving you plenty of time for practice.

However, there are better choices if you’re looking for something more casual or inclined toward cardio. I recommend Peake Gardens Riverside Tennis Club more for those who want a challenging experience.

Another thing you should take note of is that their clubhouse is small.

Pros

  • Great with teaching children
  • Classes are available 7 days per week
  • Affordable rates
  • Learning materials are easy to follow

Cons

  • Not very responsive to emails
  • Solo coaching sessions are often fully booked

James Partington Tennis Clinics is one of Adelaide’s most established tennis coaching schools. They have been in the business for more than 30 years.

They’re great at teaching children because their coaches know how to keep lessons challenging and fun. I commend them for ensuring every student is given attention during group sessions, based on the ones I saw.

Their lessons are made more accessible through the learning materials they provide. These are easy to follow and accessible on multiple devices.

Another thing we like is that their rates are affordable. Their rates start at $40 for holiday sessions, which is excellent for students who want to learn tennis over the school break.

Aside from this, they have classes available seven days per week. It’s easy to book this, too, through their website.

If there’s anything they can improve on, one is being more responsive when answering emails.

Aside from this, their slots for solo coaching sessions are often fully booked. Be sure to schedule your session in advance to get a slot.

Learning facility5/5

Pros

  • High-quality facilities
  • Flexible for different learners
  • Coaches are highly qualified
  • Reasonable rates

Cons

  • Area around the court is noisy
  • Sometimes cancels appointments abruptly

Playford Tennis Centre has one of the best facilities we’ve seen. Every part is made with great attention to detail, from its courts to its lounging area.

Notably, its courts are designed with Plexipave, which makes sprinting easier.

We like how the centre provides classes for almost all learners, from children to adults.

Its “Hotshots” program for young learners uses modified equipment provided by TennisGear. The equipment is made with just the right heaviness and design to make it child-friendly.

The centre’s coaches have excellent qualifications, as most have undergone formal the Master Club Professional course. With five coaches on the team, the school can handle many students.

The centre is especially great for players who will compete, as it provides tournament assistance. Players will receive warm-ups, match analysis, tournament reports, and more.

Moreover, its rates are reasonable given its facilities and quality of coaching. Signing up for a membership is best to make the most of its coaching services.

If there’s a downside to it, one is that the area around the court is noisy. The noise can be distracting while you play.

Aside from this, the centre had cases of abruptly canceling scheduled appointments. This can disappoint those who’ll travel to Playford just for lessons.
