  • Experience and expertise. We prefer companies with a proven track record for installing French doors well.
  • Quality of work. We reviewed their past work to see the quality of their work, especially in terms of design and integrity.
  • Fairness of fees. It’s also a priority for us to have companies that charge reasonably for both the door and the installation service.

Pros

  • Work has great aesthetic quality
  • Good qualifications
  • French doors come with multiple styles
  • Can accommodate full wall renovation projects

Cons

  • Limited slots
  • Takes some time to respond to inquiries

ArborCrest is my top recommendation if aesthetics and design are your priority. Their portfolio boasts some of the best door designs I’ve seen.

Moreover, I had no issues with their qualifications, as all of their staff members are part of the Master Builders Association and Australian Glass and Window Association. For me, certifications definitely matter when the look of my house is in the equation!

Their skills can be seen in how they accommodate projects requiring complete wall renovations. You won’t need to hire a separate builder if, for example, you need to remove bricks or windows to accommodate the French door.

In addition, their French door selections come in multiple styles, such as double doors, single doors, sidelight additions, and more. I was personally amazed by the different combinations you can make with what they offer.

These French doors are made durably because of their combination of tempered and laminated glasses. It’s why they’re a great choice if you want a combo of glass walls and doors for your home.

Furthermore, their French doors can be more stylish with the option to include sidelights. It instantly elevated the look of the property of one of the clients I talked to.

That said, their services are in-demand. I recommend you book them in advance to get an appointment, as their slots are limited.

Another downside is that some of the clients we talked to have complained about not receiving a reply from them after their initial call. Some even had to wait for two weeks.

Pros

  • Broad range of French doors offered
  • Well-made security features for doors
  • Has two branches
  • Reasonable prices

Cons

  • Doesn’t respond on time to messages
  • Takes time to provide follow-up repairs

Northside Doors and Windows has one of the broadest ranges of offerings for French doors I’ve seen. These come in multiple styles such as contemporary, minimalist, vintage, and more.

One of their standout offerings, in my opinion, is their security devices.

A common concern among French doors is that they may be vulnerable, but Northside’s broad range of latches, locks, and reinforced glass options will make you feel safer even when sleeping with the lights off.

They have done great work for both residential and commercial properties. One property manager I’ve talked to praised them because they have construction packages for multiple projects, making them the wallet-friendly choice.

As a customer, you’ll love the convenience that comes with working with a company that has two branches in Lonsdale and Smithfield.

The clients we’ve talked to also have given rave reviews regarding the professionalism of their installers. Many have praised them for being able to stick to their original price and for finishing the project on time.

However, I believe they need to improve when it comes to responding to their clients’ messages on time. Some clients we talked to had to wait two months to receive a reply.

This also extends to how they handle follow-up requests, as they take some time to do so.

Pros

  • More than 40 years of experience
  • Fully insured and well-qualified
  • Has many styles for French doors
  • Works fast and polished

Cons

  • Pricey
  • Takes long to provide an appointment

Specialist Doors & Windows has been a part of the construction industry for over 40 years, and their experience in both residential and commercial projects makes them a flexible choice.

Furthermore, their tradesmen are fully insured and are members of the Master Builder Association. It’s no wonder they were an easy recommendation to me by my cousin.

Based on what she said, their team’s work is polished and requires minimal follow-ups. She also said that she appreciates how simply they explained their service and how they allowed her to contribute her design ideas.

Their French door options, such as Meranti, western red cedar, and hardwood, are flexible enough to complement any home’s interior.

My cousin’s home was elevated with the look of the simple yet inviting Meranti French door, which made every visit to her house a treat for me!

Based on their track record, they’re great with following tight deadlines. They can finish door remodeling works within 2 days inclusive of cleanup.

It also helps that their past clients told us they arrive on time, are adept at answering all inquiries regarding the installation, and provide quotes that they follow.

I just wish that their rates are lower, as, from what I’ve seen, it’s higher than the average in Adelaide.

Another area they could improve on is their response time to emails and calls, as some clients reported waiting months before securing an appointment.

Pros

  • More than 20 years of experience
  • Large selection of doors
  • Great with matching French doors to room’s aesthetic
  • Helpful showroom representatives

Cons

  • Takes some time to respond to follow-up repairs
  • Has some complaints regarding the structural integrity of work

2nd Fix Doors and Hardware provides complete home renovation services, including door installation, exterior maintenance, renovations, and more. With more than 20 years in the business, they have a great track record that makes them recommendable.

Their door selection is among the largest I’ve seen. I’m fond of the many colors and styles they provide and how seamlessly they’ve installed them, as I’ve seen in their portfolio.

My personal favorite is their integration of French doors into minimalist designs, as their selection comes with just the right amount of stylistic additions to keep it in line with the aesthetic while providing adequate lighting to the room.

The minimalism-enthusiast client we talked to, who was very particular about cleanliness and simplicity, praised them for helping him realize his vision.

He specifically praised how well they listen to their clients, which is a great sign of their professionalism. With their keen eye for detail, it’s easy to see how they’re a great match with those looking for very clean work!

Although I didn’t proceed with availing their services, I appreciated the professionalism of the staff who guided me in their showroom.

They were well-informed about their catalog, and they were great at matching the French door to the design the client has in mind.

Besides French doors, their selection of windows and other types of doors is also extensive. If you’re installing different types of these, the shop is a great choice.

That said, one downside is that some clients complained that their follow-up repairs took a long time.

Another downside is that I noticed some complaints regarding the structural integrity of their installation. Some said that their doors started to have issues within just a couple of years.

Pros

  • Large selections of window and doors
  • French doors have great design
  • Great quality of installations
  • More than 20 years of experience

Cons

  • Pricey
  • Limited schedules

Eurostyle Window and Doors has one of the largest selections of windows and doors we’ve seen.

From what we’ve seen in their portfolio, the company is able to elevate the space where they install French doors. It’s because they choose the design of the door well based on the current aesthetic of the room.

Their French doors, in particular, have notable designs in terms of accents and colors. One client we talked to was given a door with a gentle shade of brown, which blended cleanly with her olive-green walls.

The same client praised them for the quality of their installations too. She said that it was worth it to avail of their additional services, such as window and fly screen installations, because the price gets more affordable when multiple services are bought.

With over 20 years of experience, Eurostyle Window and Doors has worked with clients such as Metricon, Henley Bowling Club, and Raywhite, making them a flexible choice for both residential and commercial projects.

Their location is just 10 minutes from the CBD, making them easy to visit. I was impressed upon visiting their branch because it’s well-organized, which is in line with the aesthetic that French doors are supposed to give!

You’ll have to take note, however, that their fees are quite pricey compared to other French door shops in Adelaide.

Additionally, demand for their services is high, which means that their schedules are often limited.
