  • Standard and luxury suites options
  • Access to indoor and outdoor play areas
  • Temperature-controlled accommodation
  • Option for owner-prepared meals is available
  • Convenient location

Cons

  • Minimum of 2-day charge
  • Some instances of double bookings in the same room
  • Not consistent with updates

Beau’s Pet Hotel is a long-term investment of Guide Dogs SA/NT that aims to provide a great environment for pets to live in while their owners are out.

The centre in Adelaide offers both standard and luxury suites, so owners can choose which suits their cats best.

The temperature in the rooms is also controlled to ensure that even during summer, cats aren’t irritated.

What we like about this place is the cats have access to indoor and outdoor play areas, so they’re not just locked in their cages.

They have a 12,800-square feet indoor play area and a 18,000 square-feet outdoor play yard, giving the pets a space to explore and play around.

We also like their exclusive kitty play area, which separates the cats from the dogs who are also boarding in the place.

Another thing we love about this place is its location. It’s adjacent to the Adelaide Airport, so cat owners who will be going on an out-of-the-country vacation can drop their cats off on the way to the airport.

We’re just disappointed at the instances of double booking that other customers experienced. Some appointments were cancelled because of this, so they had to look for a different cat boarding centre.

They’re also not consistent with their updates, which just adds to the customer’s anxiety. Leaving your beloved cat with someone already causes a lot of stress and worry, so the updates from the centre will significantly help owners.

Pros

  • Option for owner-prepared meals is available
  • Cats staying 2 weeks upward are exercised daily
  • Has a vet on call 24/7
  • Provides a drop-off and pick-up service
  • Great customer service
  • Free administration of medicine

Cons

  • Rare cases of animals suffering from gastroenteritis after their stay
  • Rare cases of pets having to share their room
  • Minimum of 2-day charge

As a pet boarding centre for over 25 years, Golden Grove Boarding Kennels & Cattery is already a master at caring for cats and dogs in Adelaide.

The centre supports owner-prepared meals, so if your cats are on a strict diet or don’t like the treats they serve, you can prepare the food yourself and leave it to them.

Additionally, we like that they can administer medicine to your cats without extra charges. This is one of the concerns of owners with cats that need medication, so it’s great to know that they don’t have to worry about it.

Cats staying at the place for more than two weeks will also be exercised daily to ensure they’re in good shape once their owner returns.

There are still, however, rare cases when the cats suffer from gastroenteritis after staying at the place, causing great worry to their owners.

Fortunately, the centre has an on-call vet 24/7. If your cat suffers from any medical emergency while in their care, there will be someone to take care of your cat.

Another thing that needs to be addressed is the cases when certain cats have to share rooms even though the owners paid for a separate room. Although rare and not frequent, it can still cause harm and stress to the cats.

  • Large cattery play area
  • Option for owner-prepared meals is available
  • Provides drop-off and pick-up services

Cons

  • Minimum of 2-day charge.
  • No 24/7 on-call vet
  • Some instances of pets losing weight after their stay
  • A bit pricey

Hedgegrove Pet Retreat has been in the pet-sitting industry since 1985 and is one of the most trusted cat boarding centres in the Adelaide metropolitan area.

What we like the most about this centre is its drop-off and pick-up services. By employing a pet taxi, the centre can arrange a pick-up service for your cat in case going to the centre will be hard for you.

We also like that they provide a scratch pole for the cats, giving them a way to relieve stress and exercise.

Aside from this, they also have a large cattery play area, so if your cat is active, they’ll enjoy their stay at the centre.

If you’re worried about the meals, Hedgegrove promises to serve well-balanced meals to your cats. You may also pack food that you’ve specially prepared, and the staff will serve them according to your request.

The only downside is that they don’t have an on-call, 24/7 vet. During business hours, they can take the cat to their consulting vet clinic, but outside operating hours, they’ll have to look for the closest hospital available.

This is important to note, as there are cats who reportedly lost weight during their stay. The stress from the new environment and other cats can cause this, so it’s vital that a vet is always there for the pets.

Cons

  • Rarely provides updates and photos
  • A bit pricey
  • No 24/7 on-call vet
  • Minimum of 2-day charge

With their picturesque garden and top-quality care, your cat will enjoy boarding at Windamere Boarding Kennels & Cattery.

The centre offers air-conditioned and heated facilities to ensure that weather changes in Adelaide will not affect your cat’s mood.

In addition, the suites are spacious, so your cats won’t feel like they’re being caged the entire stay.

We also love the pipe music playing throughout the complex. Cats have difficulty adjusting at boarding centres, so music helps them relieve stress.

The staff are also friendly not just to the owners but also to the cats. Their kind nature and experience will help your cat feel comfortable in the centre.

The centre, however, is a bit pricey. One condo for a cat costs $21 during non-peak season and $22 during peak season.

There’s also a minimum charge of two days per stay, making it even more expensive.

Another drawback is they rarely send updates about your cat. You will have to remind them and personally ask for an update before you receive one.

Pros

  • Spacious condos
  • Access to an internal exercise area
  • Temperature controlled
  • Option for an owner-prepared meal is available
  • Has a veterinary clinic

Cons

  • Can be pricey
  • No outdoor play area

Owners often worry about their cats being sick while in a boarding facility and not being there to help them. At Port Adelaide Veterinary Clinic & Cattery, you won’t have to worry about that.

The facility has an attached veterinary clinic that’s trusted by a lot of cat parents in Adelaide. Thus, if your cat needs veterinary attention while in their care, you can rest assured that an experienced vet is there.

We also like that the condos are spacious, making the cats stay comfortable.

Cats also have access to an internal exercise area to ensure they’re in good shape and don’t get bored while in the facility.

As for the food, they’re routinely fed Hills Feline Optimal Care. If you want to maintain your cat’s home diet, you can discuss it with the staff since they allow owner-prepared meals.

The only drawbacks would be the price and the lack of an outdoor play area.

The price of a stay in the facility is a bit higher than other boarding facilities. Veterinary services can also cost a lot.

Also, if your cat loves going and playing outside, this might not be the perfect choice, as they only have access to an indoor play area.
