Repairing and protecting timber decks is Stain and Seal’s main game. They’re especially first-rate at controlled sanding, surface preparation, parts replacement, and application of protective finishes.
Owner Jacob, who’s clearly passionate about timber, and his crew are dead easy to deal with. They’re often professional and prompt from the start, explaining the process and timelines to us clearly.
What’s even better is they usually deliver in a timely manner, and no shortcuts are taken. Our weathered decks, for example, came up looking fresh, including those with rotten boards.
Jacob’s honest advice saved us heaps of cash, too. He could’ve easily pushed for full replacements instead of repair for some extra dough.
The catch here is Stain and Seal’s modest portfolio. Some deck repair firms simply have more.
You might also wait for a bit before getting serviced, as the firm is on the smaller end.

Founded in 2015, Adelaide Sure Fix has been building and repairing for over 10 years. You can tell from their efficiency they’ve been doing it for a while; the firm’s tradies are often punctual and complete jobs on time.
Being a larger, more well-equipped outfit helps. Over 15 repair specialists comprise the crew, with more than 15 vehicles backing them up.
Every deck type is covered, such as hardwood, softwood, and composite decking. From what our team saw, repairs and post-job cleanups are usually done to high standards.
The guys doing them are smooth to work with, too. Apart from being polite and friendly, they’re pretty conscious of the noise they make.
Snag-wise, you’re competing for slots, since they’re also booked for other carpentry solutions, full-scale renovations included. It would also be handy if they had a regular maintenance program like our other well-staffed pick.

We can’t speak highly of quality and courteous teams without giving AK Property Repairs its flowers. Dealing with Keith Lesiuk, the owner, is commonly smooth.
It all starts with his excellent communication. Most times, the guy responds fast to inquiries and ensures clients know what’s going on, breaking down issues, quotes (which are free), and solutions in everyday language.
Regarding solutions, he typically leans on what’s practical or realistic, without compromising on workmanship or timeliness. That’s one reason homeowners with decks tend to book him long-term, often for annual maintenance.
Compared to our larger picks, however, AK Property Repairs’ history of deck repair work is fairly minimal.
Slots are limited as well. Bear in mind that Keith’s team is hired for large-scale residential and commercial projects.
Personally, I don’t mind waiting that much, as we’re talking about a decades-old crew with competitive rates.
