The best fast food restaurants in Adelaide won’t make you wait forever!
Adulting can be fun, but let’s be real, it also comes with a ton of responsibilities. By the time I get home, I’m usually too tired to cook a proper meal for myself.
For times like those, I stop by a fast food restaurant. It’s quick, it’s satisfying, and best of all, I don’t have to deal with a pile of dirty dishes in the sink.
If you’re in the same boat, I got you. I made a list of the best fast food spots in Adelaide that are actually worth checking out!

Hungry Jack’s is my go-to when I’m starving and don’t want to think too hard. With 36 locations across Adelaide, most open 24/7, it’s an easy fix for late-night cravings.
As for their menu, it’s decent. I usually grab a Whopper since it’s stacked with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, mayo, and ketchup. Their Better Beef Guarantee means their patties have no preservatives or additives, which is a nice touch.
Another thing I like about Hungry Jack’s is their app, where you can score discount coupons and rewards. Those deals have saved me more money than I can count.
That said, they’re not perfect. My biggest gripe is the inconsistent food quality. One day, your burger is loaded with sauce; the next, it can be as dry as a bone.
This place is the best
“This place is the best. Duncan is the best server, he loads up soft serves, he is generally nice and always has a smile on his face when serving. If Duncan ain’t cooking I ain’t looking.”

This place is good if you want to grab a quick bite
“This place is good if you want to grab a quick bite. Their combos are too good for the prices. Burgers are okayish, fries and nuggets are good.”

If you’re up for trying something new for a quick dinner, Oporto might be worth a visit. Originally from Sydney, they’ve recently set up shop in Adelaide with three locations in the city.
Their menu has a good mix of burgers, wraps, bowls, and Portuguese-style chicken, but most people I’ve talked to swear by the Bondi Burger. It’s got three flame-grilled chicken fillets, crisp lettuce, creamy mayo, and their special chilli sauce, which has just the right amount of kick.
They also have a Flame Rewards program where you can rack up points for free food, and if you need an affordable catering option, they’ve got that covered, too.
However, one issue that keeps coming up is rude customer service, which can be a dealbreaker for some. It’s also a bit disappointing that their City Cross branch has limited hours on weekends.
The burgers have always been done well
“I love Oportos and have a triple-fillet Bondi burger (with chilli!) everytime I go to the CBD. My experience at this store has been great as the burgers have always been done well.”

When it comes to fast food, Macca’s is pretty much the first thing that comes to mind. As someone who eats there often, I appreciate that most Adelaide locations are open 24/7, making it easy to grab a quick meal whenever.
Their menu covers most of the basics—burgers, nuggets, fried chicken, and more. I usually stick to the Big Mac because it’s reliable. So far, the two beef patties and creamy special sauce combo haven’t let me down yet.
Another reason I visit? The free WiFi. Plus, I almost always use the MyMacca’s app to score some discounts and deals since I want to save money.
However, I’m disappointed that some locations aren’t as clean as they should be. I get that they’re open all day, but that’s not really an excuse for slacking on maintenance.
A reliable spot for a fast meal
“The food was consistent with what you’d expect—quick, tasty, and satisfying. The service was efficient, and the staff were friendly enough. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, though it can get a bit crowded during peak hours. A reliable spot for a fast meal.”

Lord of the Fries is a bit of a hidden gem if you’re after decent vegetarian fast food. With two locations in Adelaide, their menu is entirely vegetarian, with plenty of vegan options.
Now, let’s talk food. After trying them a couple of times, I’d say their Beyond Meat Burger is worth a shot. It’s smoky, juicy, and convincing enough that you wouldn’t immediately clock it as plant-based.
Aside from their menu, another reason they’re worth checking out is their VIP club. Members get access to perks like discount coupons, exclusive offers, and invites to tasting events, which is a nice thing if you’re a regular.
Unfortunately, they’re not the most consistent when it comes to food quality. I still remember ordering fries so soggy you could probably find an oil deposit underneath.
Great customer service!
“Great customer service! Best vegan options in Adelaide. Reasonably priced and very delicious food”

Subway is my go-to when I want something fresh and customisable but don’t have time to sit down for a full meal. You all know the drill: you can choose everything from the bread to the sauces, which is what makes it stand out from other fast food joints. Simple concept, but it works.
Beyond customisation, the best thing about Subway is how accessible they are since they have 50 locations across Adelaide, with many being open 24/7.
Their mobile app makes ordering even smoother, whether it’s for click and collect or delivery. I also like the Subcard rewards program since it lets me rack up points and trade them for discounts or free food later.
Sadly, some locations don’t have the best service. I’ve had my fair share of rude encounters, and a few 24/7 branches could definitely use more regular cleaning.

A great place for dining in or takeaway meals
“A great place for dining in or takeaway meals. They have a huge selection of 6″ and footlong subs, drinks and cookies to choose from. And the prices are extremely tremendous. Also, the staff are extremely friendly, courteous and polite. I thoroughly recommend this place if you are in the mood for a great healthy, delicious and appetising meal. I’ll never stop going into their stores or ordering online from the app, I hope you do too.”
