First on my list is Victoria, who can easily be contacted online. When I asked her if she is available for urgent makeup requests, she said she has a same-day makeup service available. However, its availability depends on the date, especially if someone has already booked it before us.

I also asked Victoria if she keeps up with the current fashion trends. This was how I learned she has a degree in fashion, theatre, and media makeup from ITEC, London, in 2012. This certification tells me she has the eagle eye when it comes to the next iconic fashion look!

However, I do have an issue with the high demand for her services. It makes booking an appointment with her a challenge.

I talked to Amber Boe of Adelaide Mobile Hair & Makeup because I was interested in her skincare products, such as hair masks, face masks and anti-wrinkle gels. I liked these for my model client because they may help minimise damage from constant makeup use. This way, she can maintain healthy skin!

Aside from hair and makeup styles we can use for publicity events, my client noted that Amber Boe has complimentary inclusions. The mini lippy and natural lashes help us save on expenses and also highlight my client’s beauty! 

However, my client had to reconsider. She mentioned that their services don’t offer urgent contact or same-day makeup and styling. Modelling is a rather fast-paced profession, and she needed someone who is also quick to adapt.

My client needed to check if there was anyone available for commercial and themed shoots. She has a scheduled fantasy-inspired shoot coming up, so I went to see Tallora of Mobile Makeovers Australia.

Tallora can handle short notices, celebrity shoots, and special themed sessions. This is because she has been working in the fashion and makeup industry since 1997. 

My client is also particular about her skin. When I informed them about this, they said they only use cruelty-free and hypoallergenic makeup products. They ensure that my client’s skin would not break out in the middle of a shoot.

However, because of multiple appointments already scheduled, it can be quite difficult to get in touch with them. We also can’t bring them along to events outside Adelaide, as they are limited to the area.

When I contacted Jerick Moral, it was because my client was concerned that the makeup services we had seen so far may not be inclusive of her fellow models. Thus, she was hesitant to share her recommendations with them.

This was not the case with Jerick Moral, as he’s open to a diverse set of people and recognised as a queer-friendly business! 

We know some models who identify as LGBTQIA+ or are of a racial minority who hired his services. He carried with him a diverse range of products for any skin and hair type.

Moreover, he’s a trusted educator at TAFE SA Hair and Beauty! 

However, due to his busy schedule as an artist and teacher, we found it difficult to land an appointment. We could still visit him and inquire about his services at his Torrensville studio, but the travel could be a hassle for me and my client.

I still needed to check out mobile makeup services that are available even outside Adelaide. I consulted Privé Hair & Makeup about this, and they assured me that my client can be met within and out of Adelaide. 

This is because they also have mobile services available in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and the Gold Coast! They also have partner hotels that their artists could use to ensure the client’s comfort during sessions.

They also understood the demands of a model because they have been operating in this industry since 2018. This also informed me that they are knowledgeable of the diverse makeup and hairstyles needed in this field.

While my client approved of their services, what she noticed may be an issue is that they specialise more in wedding and bridal makeup.
