Pros

  • Highly qualified
  • Many services offered
  • Responsive
  • Professional

Cons

  • Few schedules available
  • High fees

Dr. Andrew Zacest is a highly qualified neurosurgeon in Adelaide as seen in his affiliations and positions held.

Among his notable positions are consultant neurosurgeon for Royal Adelaide Hospital and clinical associate professor for the University of Adelaide.

Following the scientist-practitioner model, he actively contributes to research for neurology. This includes contributions to studies on traumatic brain injury, neurosurgery, and neuromodulation.

It’s why he has many services and treatments offered, from surgeries to pain relief and deep brain stimulation. He has the appropriate equipment for this too.

Another highlight of the clinic is its reliable administrative staff. They are quick to respond to emails and are informative.

If there’s a downside with them, it’s only that their services are sought by many all over Adelaide. Booking an appointment can be tough.

Along with this, their fees are quite high. The good news is that they are great at handling insurance claims, especially for Workcover.

Pros

  • Highly qualified
  • Expertise in headaches, seizures, and migraine
  • Offers video telemetry services
  • Good track record for treating muscle dystonia

Cons

  • Not responsive to calls and emails
  • Limited available schedules

Dr. Rey Casse is exceptional, as he is both a neurologist and a nuclear physician. The latter enables him to treat tumors and hematomas with more precision.

He has experience in different hospitals, including The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Austin Repatriation Hospital, and Westmead Hospital.

Most of his referrals are for cases of cluster headaches, migraines, seizures, and post-traumatic stress. His treatments are holistic and comprehensive.

Clients will also be glad to know that you can get video telemetry in the hospital and at your home. His other services are nerve conduction studies and electroencephalograms.

He also has a great track for treating muscle dystonia, a disease that causes excessive contraction of the muscles. His injection therapy relaxes the affected parts and reduces chronic fatigue.

Unfortunately, a downside with Dr. Casse is that he or his staff isn’t responsive to calls and emails for appointments.

Aside from this, his available schedules are limited because of the high demand for his services.

Pros

  • Big team
  • Expertise in stroke, memory disorders, and sclerosis
  • Great at processing insurance
  • Informative and accommodating

Cons

  • Long waiting times
  • Pricey fees

Specialists on College has a big team composed of neurologists and a vascular surgeon. These professionals also work for nearby hospitals including Calvary Adelaide and Flinders Medical Centre.

Their expertise is in treating multiple sclerosis, stroke, epilepsy, and memory disorders. Those referred for these are given appropriate priority.

The clinic is a great choice for those who need botulinum toxin treatments for cases like spasms, migraine, and hyperhidrosis.

In addition, they are great at processing paperwork for the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, taking its strict criteria into consideration.

We’re also pleased with how helpful and accommodating their staff is. From initial appointments to treatments, they communicate well with their clients.

A downside with them, however, is that some clients complained of long waiting times in their clinic.

Aside from this, their fees may be high if you’re not covered by insurance. Be sure to prepare your budget before consulting with them.

Pros

  • Large team
  • Has many sub-specialties
  • Professional and empathetic
  • Well-equipped clinic

Cons

  • Unresponsive to phone calls
  • Website needs more information and better design

Southern Neurology & Neurophysiology has a large team of seven neurologists, each with a sub-specialty. This makes them capable of handling most neurological cases.

Included in their specialties are women and epilepsy, chronic migraine, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis.

They have a lot of experience in the field, as seen in their years of professional work and their affiliations with notable hospitals around Adelaide.

Many clients appreciate the professionalism and empathy shown by their experts. They are great at explaining your condition and their treatment plan.

It’s an added bonus that their clinic is among the best-designed and equipped ones in Adelaide. As a result, they can do many treatments such as nerve conduction studies and botulinum toxin therapy.

If there’s anything we don’t like about them, it’s that they are unresponsive to phone calls.

Aside from this, a minor issue is that their website needs more work in terms of informativeness and design.

Pros

  • Convenient location
  • Experienced neurologists
  • Many areas of expertise
  • Transparent with fees

Cons

  • High fees
  • Limited schedules available

Adelaide Spine & Brain has a convenient location in Melbourne Street that is highly accessible both by car and public transportation.

They house some of the most experienced neurologists in Adelaide. Most of them have decades of experience and notable positions in neurological associations.

Included in their expertise are pediatric scoliosis, spinal tumors, lumbar spine, and trigeminal neuralgia. They have the equipment to handle these cases too.

What we like best about them is their transparency in fees. A complete list of consultations and operations fees can be viewed on their website.

In relation to this, they process paperwork for Medicare, Private Health, WorkCover, and other insurance providers quickly.

If you’re planning to visit them, a downside you can expect is that their fees are quite high. This is to be expected given the qualifications of their team and the equipment they use.

Aside from this, the schedules they have are limited, as most of their neurologists also work in other hospitals in Adelaide.
