Pros

  • Wide variety of services
  • Quick turnaround time
  • Offers online printing orders
  • Flexible payment options
  • Offers film processing

Cons

  • Few cases of staff being unwelcoming
  • Small place
  • Closed on Sundays

Hutt Street Photography remains true to its mission up to this day. They deliver high-quality photos quickly and at a reasonable price.

The shop offers various services, from film processing to digital photo printing. Not only do they print on paper but also on canvas and mugs.

They also offer various photo gifts that you can avail for your friends or loved ones.

For their printing services, they use Kodak Professional Digital paper, Kodak Metallic, or Kodak Canvas paper to ensure that the photos will come out looking amazing.

We love that they individually correct the colour and density of the photos to make them extra beautiful. They also make sure that they’re optimised for contrast and colour saturation.

We also appreciate their quick turnaround time. They’re often able to finish your order within 24 hours, which is convenient for those in a rush.

In fact, it sometimes only takes them a few hours to be done with digital printing. Passport photos also take less than an hour most times.

We also love how convenient it is to avail of their services. You can order from their website or send the photos to their email if you don’t want to leave the comfort of your home or have a packed schedule.

It’s also an excellent option for those who don’t like crowded and small places. The shop is small, so it can quickly get busy at times, and it may make some uncomfortable.

We were just disappointed at the few reports of certain staff members being unwelcoming at times. Although it’s a rare occurrence, we believe it shouldn’t happen, as it’s important to make customers feel welcome and appreciated.

Pros

  • Good range of services
  • Great customer service
  • Accessible location
  • Uses high-quality printer
  • Best for those who also want their photos framed

Cons

  • Relatively slow turnaround time
  • Doesn’t offer film processing

Dimonds Gallery is a father-and-son business in Adelaide Arcade that was started because of their passion for arts.

What we love about this shop is its wide variety of printing options. Depending on your preferences, you can choose canvas or paper print and may also choose different sizes.

They even offer a specific printing option for IKEA frames to ensure your photos will fit on the frame you bought.

We’re also absolutely in love with their Epson SureColor P10070, one of the best-performing printers in the market right now. It uses 10 cartridges to produce superb colours, allowing Dimonds to print top-notch photos.

Additionally, Renato, the owner, is such a pleasure to work with. He listens to what the customers want and makes sure that each photo is of the best quality before release.

He also gives great advice when you want to frame your photos, which helps make the images stand out more

The only downsides would be the slow turnaround time and the fact that they don’t process film photos.

As Renato individually checks the photos, it may take some time before they are ready for release. It also takes more time when you ask them to frame the pictures, as there are times when they have to source out the frame.

Paper prints can take 3 to 5 business days before they’re ready for shipment. While it takes 7 to 9 days for canvas prints.

They also don’t process film photos, so if you want to get your film camera photos printed, you will have to look for a different shop.

Pros

  • Wide variety of services
  • Ilford Certified Printing Partner
  • Quick turnaround time
  • Accommodates short-notice orders

Cons

  • Doesn’t offer film processing
  • Closed on Sundays

DigiMall Adelaide specialises in digital capturing and digital printing. It was established in 2015 and has helped hundreds of Adelaideans print their beloved photographs.

What stood out the most about DigiMall is that it’s an Ilford Certified Printing Partner. Ilford is known to produce some of the best quality photographic papers in the market, so it’s an excellent plus for DigiMall to be recognised by the company.

We also love how extensive their services are. They offer many printing options for your photos, like paper printing, canvas printing, metal photo panel, photo-printed ceramic tiles, and more.

They also offer professional photography services, so if you don’t have photos, you can get them taken at the studio.

Just note that while they have a wide variety of services, they only print digital photos. Film rolls can’t be developed in the shop.

On the bright side, they accommodate short notice orders and can their prompt service.

Several customers have reached out to DigiMall and asked if they can do some rush orders, and DigiMall was more than happy to help. They also promptly worked, so the photos were in the hands of the customers by the time they needed them.

It’s just a pity that they’re closed on Sundays. Some customers still prefer to go to the shop instead of emailing the photos, so it can be a bit disappointing to some to learn that the shop is not open on Sundays.

Pros

  • Online printing orders
  • Numerous stores around Australia
  • Flexible payment options
  • Offers various printing options
  • Offers film processing

Cons

  • Customer service can be improved
  • Small place
  • Closed on Sundays

Camera House is better known for selling cameras, but the shop also offers excellent photo printing services.

Camera House has an online print shop where customers can browse their vast printing options. The shop offers canvas wraps, greeting cards, photo-printed glass, photo books, and more

Among their products, the photo books are our favourites. They offer different covers, types, and sizes, providing customers with an even wider range of options.

We also love that the shop offers film processing apart from digital photo printing, as many customers still love film cameras.

Their print shop is also very convenient for those who don’t have time to visit the shop. Customers can just edit their digital photos the way they want and email them to the shop.

Another thing that we love about this shop is its flexible payment option. Aside from cash, they also accept debit cards, credit cards, PayPal, and Studio 19 for their photography technologies and print shop.

However, we were disappointed with the customer service. While some staff remained professional, some appeared unwelcoming and were a little rude.

We were disappointed at the way they answered questions, as some felt like the questions were bothersome.

In addition, the place is relatively small, adding to the uncomfortable atmosphere that some staff members are exuding.

Pros

  • Oldest photographic lab in Australia
  • Offers various printing options
  • Offers film processing and scanning
  • Flexible payment option

Cons

  • Few instances of the shop shipping orders to the wrong address
  • Communication with customers can be improved

As Australia’s oldest photographic lab, it’s not surprising that Atkins Lab made it to this list. The shop was established in 1936 and has proven its expertise in photo printing to South Australians for 86 years.

We love that although the shop developed to accommodate the changes in photography, they didn’t abandon film processing. It remains one of the few shops in South Australia to still offer film processing and scanning.

We are also in love with their huge range of printing options. They offer hand-torn edge art prints, handmade albums, bookplates, print USB boxes, and more.

Among their services, the handmade paper print is a standout. They are the only ones in the world to use this kind of paper, so it’s a great choice if you want to print photos of an extremely special event.

Despite being in the business for a long time, there are still some things that Atkins needs to improve.

First, there were instances when orders were shipped to the wrong address, causing inconvenience to the customers. It would be great if they could address this issue and ensure it never happens again.

Communication with the customers also needs improvement. Some customers didn’t get return calls, so they didn’t know what happened with their orders or inquiry.

Nonetheless, Atkins Lab remains one of the best choices for customers looking for photo printing shops in Adelaide.
