Pros

  • Huge fleet of vehicles
  • Affordable prices
  • Easy booking process

Cons

  • Some drivers and guides are rude
  • A few instances of dirty buses

Adelaide Transport T.Bus is widely known for its tours, but you can also charter their buses for private events like weddings, corporate events, social group outings, and more.

The company has a large fleet of vehicles, so they can provide a bus even when they have a lot of appointments.

We also love that their buses come in a wide variety of sizes, so they’re able to accommodate whatever needs the customer has.

They have minibuses that can transport 13 to 24 passengers. They also have 33, 53, 57, and 59-seater coaches, which are perfect for bigger groups.

We also love how affordable their prices are. They offer some of the lowest rates when it comes to tours in South Australia.

Another great thing about the company is they’re very responsive with calls and emails, so booking their services is easy.

We’re just a bit disappointed at the attitude of the driver and guide who assisted us on our tour. They were quite aggressive with their words, and it wasn’t just directed at us but also at the staff of the hotel we stayed at.

We’re afraid that this behaviour will extend to their chartered bus services.

We also heard reports of dirty buses from former customers. Some found water bottles and plastics in the corner of the seats.

Pros

  • 60 years of experience
  • Huge fleet of vehicles
  • Responsive to emails and calls
  • Lenient on cancellation

Cons

  • Some drivers get late
  • Biggest bus is only 24-seater

Des’s Mini Bus has been in the transportation business for over 60 years, and they strive to prioritise your safety.

They have an array of services that can help you with your transportation needs. You can charter their buses for airport transfers, tours, weddings, corporate, school, and sporting events.

Conveniently, they’re responsive to emails and calls, so chartering a bus won’t be bothersome. Their buses are also on the road 24/7, so they can help even during public holidays.

We’re most impressed by their huge fleet of over 60 vehicles. We like that their fleet allows them to help as many clients as they want.

The only thing we didn’t like about their buses is they can only accommodate 24 passengers. We think the company isn’t the best choice for large groups because of this.

We also find it disappointing that the drivers get late at times. There are instances when they are over an hour late, which is so inconvenient for clients.

On the bright side, we really love their cancellation policy. They only charge a $40 fee for cancellations made 7 days before the booking, which is a lot cheaper than other companies.

Pros

  • Wide variety of buses
  • Great customer service
  • Punctual drivers
  • Quite lenient on cancellations

Cons

  • Refunding of bond is solely based on the company’s discretion
  • Price estimates are not available online

Adelaide Star specialises in transporting large groups, so they have buses with 24, 45, and 57 seating capacities. But they also offer minibuses that can fit up to 13 people.

Our favourite thing about the Adelaide Star Bus is the staff. From the drivers to the receptionist, everyone is kind and professional.

The staff are responsive to queries and work their best to help customers with transportation needs. The drivers are also lovely individuals, always punctual, making the ride comfortable and fun.

We also love how lenient they are with cancellations. If you cancel your booking 31 days before the schedule, they’ll refund everything you paid them.

If you cancel it 7 to 30 days before the appointment, you can recover 90% of your payment, which is significantly bigger than other companies that usually just offer 50%.

Our only concern about the payments is the bond. They sometimes require a bond of $200 to $500, and the return of it is solely based on the discretion of the company.

This can cause conflict between the company and the customers if they’re unable to explain why the bond is withheld.

Prices are also not available on their website, so the only way to get an estimate of their services is through phone calls and emails.

Pros

  • Over 20 years of experience
  • Great customer service
  • Punctual drivers
  • In-house mechanic

Cons

  • Drivers sometimes take the incorrect route
  • No minibuses

Grant’s Coachlines have been in operation for over 20 years, which means they have the necessary skills and knowledge to transport clients safely.

We think that the reason they’re one of the best-rated bus charter companies in Adelaide is the quality of customer service they provide.

While inquiring about their services, we noticed that they enthusiastically answer phone calls and are friendly.

We also highly appreciate the efforts they make to serve whoever may need their services, sometimes going as far as accepting emergency bookings made on the same day.

They also have an in-house mechanic, which makes emergency bookings possible. This also assures us that the buses are inspected by a capable professional before they’re sent out to customers.

Another thing we love about them is how punctual and kind the drivers are. They’re always on time for pick up and they engage in small talk to ensure their passengers feel comfortable around them.

There were just a few instances where they took the wrong turn, causing the trip to be a few minutes longer than planned.

It’s also a bummer that they don’t have minibuses. We suggest calling other companies if you’re travelling in a small group, as they don’t offer the best choices for you.

However, if you’re travelling in big groups,  they have an array of vehicles ranging from 21 to 59 seats, which you can charter for your trip or event.

Pros

  • Over 30 years of experience
  • Offers aircraft hire
  • Clean buses
  • Has an online booking system

Cons

  • Communication mishaps
  • Only 50% is refunded during cancellations

Coachstar Australia is one of the leading bus charter companies in South Australia with a 30-year impressive track record.

The company only employs qualified and experienced drivers, so we feel confident in recommending their services. Drivers also know the best stopover spots for long drives since they’ve been doing tours for some time.

They offer a wide variety of vehicles, including buses with 11 to 59 seats and mini aircraft, which are quite hard to come by.

However, the best thing about their buses isn’t the size but how well-maintained they are. They’re always clean and have never broken down on the road despite long trips.

We also heard from clients that their bus seats are some of the most comfortable that they’ve used, so that’s another plus for the company.

We also find the online booking system to be very convenient. We figure that many customers find completing a form a lot easier than calling the company.

Their communication system, though, still causes some problems. Payment emails sometimes don’t register on the company’s end, prompting them to cancel bookings.

As such, we highly suggest calling the company to confirm there’s no problem and that the booking will push through.
