Pros

  • Long history in the business
  • Wide variety of flooring options
  • Affordable

Cons

  • Some inexperienced installers
  • Limited area of service

Floors Adelaide takes pride in their over 15 years of experience in providing quality flooring products.

Whether it’s for a home, an apartment, or a small business, they can help upgrade your property with their great selection of flooring materials.

They also have a wide range of products in different colors and textures, so it might not be an easy choice but the various options are much appreciated.

We like that they consider a client’s budget first more than anything else. They present flooring suggestions to clients that are within their budgets.

However, one major downside is they have some inexperienced floor technicians. There were several installations that aren’t as flawless as the clients would want.

It can also be hard to reach out to their management to communicate your concerns.

To avoid the hassle of reworks, make sure that the technician assigned to your property is fully licensed and has plenty of experience in floor installations.

Moreover, it’s also important to take note that they’re located all the way in Cheltenham, which is about 12 km away from Adelaide CBD. Their installation service is also limited in Tea Tree Gully and nearby areas.

If you’re coming from the east or south side of Adelaide, it could take around a 30-minute drive to get there.

Pros

  • Long history in the business
  • Wide variety of options

Cons

  • Occasionally doesn’t show up on booked dates
  • Unresponsive to emails and messages

With over 35 years of experience, A1 Flooring has become one of the go-to flooring centers in Adelaide.

They carry an extensive range of high-quality timber flooring for clients to choose from.

From solid timber and engineered timber to wooden and laminated flooring, they are fully equipped to cover all your flooring needs.

What’s more, they have an in-store showroom that features their beautiful flooring samples with large displays of traditional floorboards, timber floating floors, and bamboo as well as after-care products and accessories.

When booking a job, we recommend calling consistently for a follow-up to make sure the appointment is still on.

There were several records from previous customers that A1 Flooring didn’t show up on booked dates. As a result, the project got delayed for not only days or weeks but months.

They’re also not that responsive to emails and messages. If you’re trying to reach out, it’s best to drop by their physical store or call their hotline directly.

3. Modern Floors

Pros

  • Long experience in the industry
  • Available after-hours

Cons

  • Nontransparent pricing
  • No online shop option

Modern Floors provides professional flooring services for both residential and commercial properties all across Adelaide.

Although they have been in the business for more than 95 years, they continually strive to showcase new and modern products for all clients.

They have an in-store showroom that features a great variety of flooring products in all styles and colors.

What’s more, they’re also available after-hours to provide physical samples for clients to see their flooring selection in person.

As for pricing, they’re not really transparent with their prices.

We think a price guide would help those budget-conscious consumers who want to avoid the hassle of scheduling a physical inspection for a quotation.

Unlike others, they also don’t have an online shop for faster, seamless transactions. If you’re planning to order, you’ll have to come by the physical store.

They’re located all the way to Winston Avenue, so it’s going to be a bit of a drive if you’re coming from Adelaide CBD and the northern Adelaide area.

Pros

  • Massive showroom
  • Free physical inspection and quotes

Cons

  • Unresponsive to emails and messages
  • Poor customer service

Floors Direct is an Adelaide-based flooring outlet with some of the most popular brands of floor coverings.

You can check out their massive showroom with beautiful carpet rolls, handy samples, floorboards, vinyl, and more.

What’s more, they have a sales team that provides free physical inspection and on-site quotes for your home or office.

You can also request a quotation online. You’ll just have to fill up their website form, and they’ll get back to you in a few days.

If you’re planning to book a floor installation, get the installer’s contact information. Reaching out to their management for after-sale repairs and reworks can be challenging.

There were instances when they kept rescheduling repair appointments with their clients. They can also be unresponsive to emails and messages.

Aside from that, they also have poor customer service. You might find it difficult to communicate with their staff since some of them are rude and condescending.

Pros

  • Wide variety of options
  • Online calculator

Cons

  • Nontransparent pricing
  • Poor customer service

Floor n Decor offers a great variety of popular and inexpensive flooring brands. As a member of the Australian Flooring Association, they are highly knowledgeable in all things floors.

What’s more, you can request a free quotation by filling up their website form, or you can calculate the quote yourself.

They have an in-website Floor Area Estimator that can measure your floor area and the cost per square meter.

Take note, though, that the calculated price is just an estimation.

The actual price may vary. They don’t have their actual prices posted as well as the labor charge for installation.

We like that they have an informative blog section on their website.

You can find answers to basic FAQs on choosing and maintaining different types of flooring.

However, there were records of them having poor customer service. Some clients found it frustrating to ask inquiries on the phone due to their staff’s condescending tone.
