Venues for Adventurous Kids

West Beach Adventure

For kids ages 8 and above

Website: https://westbeachadventure.com.au/
Address: 4 Hamra Ave, West Beach SA 5024, Australia
Contact details: +61 8 8355 1480
Operating hours: Monday to Sunday – 10 AM-6 PM

West Beach Adventure provides high-octane fun for everyone! It’s safe for kids, too, as there’s a dedicated obstacle course for them.

Let your children conquer any fear of heights with the largest aerial adventure course in the country. On this course, they can walk on a tightrope, glide from a high place, and more!

Just don’t give them a heavy lunch before embarking on this adventure.

Pro tip: Not every kid is built to take on the aerial adventure course of West Beach Adventure, and that’s okay!

You can chill with them in the cafe instead. It has a stunning view of West Beach.

The Beachouse

Website: https://thebeachouse.com.au/
Address: 4 Colley Terrace, Glenelg SA 5045, Australia
Contact details: +61 8 8295 1511
Operating hours: Monday to Sunday – 10 AM-5 PM

The Beachouse is simply a kid’s paradise. I go there whenever I want my inner child to have fun!

The theme park has bumper boats, dodgem cars, play trails, and play castles, giving your children something new to explore with every visit.

They’re also very easy to coordinate with for group parties because parties are the bread-and-butter of the park. With great prices and many attractions, the park is perfect for any kid’s party!

Pro tip: Their reservation slots easily get fully booked during summertime. I advise you to book months before to make sure that you get a slot on a date you prefer.

Treeclimb Adelaide

For kids aged 5 and above

Website: https://www.treeclimb.com.au/
Address: Cnr Greenhill Road &, Unley Rd, Adelaide SA 5000, Australia
Contact details: +61 8 7089 4490
Operating hours:

  • Monday to Friday – 9 AM-4 PM
  • Saturday – 9 AM-5 PM
  • Sunday – 9 AM-3 PM

TreeClimb Adelaide lets you fulfill your Tarzan fantasy in a safe and well-engineered obstacle course. It was easy to trust the instructors here to handle my child’s party because they were very thorough in providing safety instructions.

The best part is that you can join the obstacle course with them, making it easier for them to be comfortable with the heights. During our climb, I was surprised when I realized that my youngest was effortlessly surpassing me.

Pro tip: Not all children can easily get over their fear of heights once they’re at the top of the obstacle course. Because of this, some may get stuck in place in the middle of the course, slowing down the group.

It’s best to prepare for this by telling your children beforehand that TreeClimb has many safety protocols in place to ensure that they’re safe while they are on the obstacle course. If they’re still scared, it’s best to not book a session.

Kartmania

Website: https://www.kartmania.com.au/
Address: 1 Port Wakefield Rd, Gepps Cross SA 5094, Australia
Contact details: +61 8 8262 8548
Operating hours: Monday to Sunday- 10 AM-8 PM

If your children and their friends have a passion for high-speed racing, Kartmania is a great choice for them. With an array of brand-new karts coming in glossy colors, it’s easy to fulfill any child’s racing fantasy here.

If they get bored of the race track or simply want more, they can try laser tag. The laser tag arena is wide, and their imagination can easily run wild because of the highly immersive display inside.

Pro tip: If your child is a competitive racer, they can book a Junior Grand Prix event! You’ll need to form a team of at least 8 drivers and register here.

Bungee Core Fitness

For kids aged 8 and above (should weigh at least 30 kg)

Website: https://www.bungeecorefitness.com.au/
Address: 1 Main St, Beverley SA 5009, Australia
Contact details: +61 474 117 094
Operating hours:

  • Monday to Tuesday, Thursday – 7:30-10:30 AM, 4:30-8:30 PM
  • Wednesday, Friday – 7:30-10:30 AM, 4:30-10:30 PM
  • Saturday – 7:30 AM-12 PM
  • Sunday – Closed

Bungee Core Fitness is for the athletic kids. The studio makes exercising fun through basic bungee lessons.

Having a bungee class for a party was very fun for my daughter. The energy from the music was infectious, and being suspended mid-air fulfilled the children’s fantasies of flying!

Pro tip: Warm-ups are a necessity, as you can easily get fatigued if you don’t do these. After all, you’ll be jumping and using your core a lot while you’re here.

Crocs Playcentre

For kids aged 3 and above

Website: https://kilburn.crocsplaycentre.com.au/
Address: 4/252 Churchill Rd, Kilburn SA 5084, Australia
Contact details: +61 8 7092 3775
Operating hours:

  • Monday to Friday- 9 AM-5 PM
  • Saturday to Sunday- 9 AM-4:30 PM

Crocs Playcentre is a great choice for a kid’s party because they can spend almost the whole day here with its many play areas (such as ball pits and slides). The place is wide, allowing plenty of space for parents to wait in.

The best part is you won’t have to book in advance. Additionally, they offer plenty of food and drinks, so packing lunch isn’t needed.

Pro tip: Kids can easily get tired if you give them too much sugar (yes, it’s actually the opposite).

It might be tempting to buy sugary snacks (like muffins and milkshakes) because Crocs Playcentre’s menu is full of these, but I recommend you instead pick their lower-carb and less sugary items, such as salads and sandwiches.

BOUNCEinc

For kids aged 5 and above

Website: https://www.bounceinc.com.au/
Address: 164-168 Richmond Rd, Marleston SA 5033, Australia
Operating hours:

  • Monday to Thursday – 9 AM-8 PM
  • Friday – 9 AM-9 PM
  • Saturday – 9 AM-8 PM
  • Sunday – 9 AM-6 PM

At BOUNCEinc, the energy and joy of bouncing are simply infectious. My kids had a fantastic time performing tricks in the air and playing basketball while bouncing.

Being here reminded me of American Ninja Warrior, as their party packages feature challenging courses for children. The best part is that even if you fall, getting back up is effortless and part of the fun.

Pro tip: Having snacks is important, as children will easily get hungry from bouncing all day long. Be sure to reserve a food platter (fruit, sandwich, cake, pizza, and more) from the venue before having a party there!

Escape Hunt

For kids aged 10 and above

Website: https://escapehunt.com/au/adelaide/
Address: Level 3/133 Rundle Mall, Twin St, Adelaide SA 5000, Australia
Contact details: +61 8 8223 7770
Operating hours:

  • Sunday to Thursday- 10:30 AM-8:30 PM
  • Friday to Saturday- 10:30 AM-11 PM

If your child is naturally inquisitive and witty, Escape Hunt is the place for them. It’s an escape room filled with riddles and puzzles.

The rooms have themes inspired by different movie genres, such as fantasy, horror, and thriller.

My top pick is the Down the Rabbit Hole puzzle, as my eldest told me its difficulty was just right and the Alice in Wonderland theme was well-executed through the puzzle’s visuals and wordplay.

Pro tip: Some of their escape rooms, such as Great White Killer and The Deadly Discovery, may be too intense for children. I suggest you go through the contents of their different rooms first before booking.

Venues for Creative Kids

First Senses

For kids aged 1 and above

Website: https://firstsenses.com.au/
Contact details: +61 466 840 564
Operating hours:

  • Monday to Friday- 9 AM-5 PM
  • Saturday to Sunday – Closed

First Senses is perfect for satisfying your children’s hunger for sensory stimulation. Here, they can create colorful slimes with pigments, beans, and sparkles.

One of their best party packages here is the Messy Birthday Party, where children can play with jelly, oobleck, rice, and more. You won’t have to worry about cleaning, either, as the activity is done outdoors with a mat.

Pro tip: Some children may be tempted to eat the slime, so you have to warn them before they play with it that it shouldn’t ever go near their mouths. A colorful playtime may go downhill very quickly if they accidentally ingest any of the slime.

Build-a-Bear Workshop

For kids aged 3 and above

Website: https://buildabear.com.au/
Address: Shop 39/976 North East Road, Modbury SA 5092, Australia

  • Sunday – 10 AM-5 PM

If you want to give your child a toy that’s special and uniquely theirs, going to Build-a-Bear is the answer. From its eyes down to its fur, the bears can be shaped exactly like how your child wants them.

It doesn’t have to stop at bears too, as they can design bunnies, ponies, dolls, and more. These come in a wide range of colors and accessories.

Pro tip: Don’t forget to take a picture of your child as they put a heart on their new bear. It’s the most important part of the process when they finally claim the toy as theirs.

Barossa Valley Chocolate Company

For kids aged 5 and above

Website: https://www.barossavalleychocolates.com.au/
Address: 64 Burings Rd, Tanunda SA 5352, Australia
Contact details: +61 8 8565 9800
Operating hours:

  • Wednesday to Monday – 10 AM-5 PM
  • Tuesday – Closed

Sweet tooths, unite! For a luscious and sweet family-friendly experience, Barossa Valley Chocolate Company is the answer!

My kid had a great time creating chocolates in many varieties (milk, dark, white, and ruby) with his friends here. With sprinkles, mallows, cookie bits, and more, they had plenty of ingredients to decorate their chocolate with.

Pro tip: If you or your child have special dietary requirements, inform their staff upon booking a session so that they can adjust it.

Drip Splash

For kids aged 6 and above

Website: https://adelaide.dripsplash.com.au/
Address: 201 Waymouth St, Adelaide SA 5000, Australia
Contact details: +61 493 673 525

Drip Splash is for creative children who simply can’t stop decorating their notebooks, drawers, and walls. Here, they can have a painting session where they can let their imagination run loose, all while sipping juice or munching snacks.

The atmosphere here is as vibrant as their walls, which are filled with paintings of icons like Marilyn Monroe and Tupac. It was fun letting my imagination run loose with my daughter as we painted side-by-side.

With the hip music blasting through the speakers as you work, the venue is simply charming.

Pro tip: Knowing that your children will be painting the whole time they’re here, it’s best to give them a painter’s apron or a t-shirt that you won’t mind being painted.

Cook n Create

For kids aged 6 and above

Website: https://cookncreate.com.au/
Contact details: +61 416 028 987
Operating hours: Monday to Sunday- 8 AM-5 PM

Cook n Create loves having many cooks in the kitchen, especially the young ones! This mobile kitchen teaches almost every dish on the kid’s menu of many restaurants, like pizza and pasta.

The vibe of the parties held here is fun and very exciting, especially with the smell of baking bread wafting in the air. Jess, its founder and head teacher, is amazing with teaching children and balancing different energies in the room.

Pro tip: If your child wants to extend the cooking experience at home, I highly recommend buying one of the mobile kitchen’s toolkits. It has a whisk, peeler, measuring cup set, and more.

Venues for a Relaxed Kid’s Party

For stylish children, ILookMyStyle is excellent. Here, they can have a day where they’re free to dress up, play with accessories, and simply relax.

The venue has many themes for parties, such as princess fantasy, unicorn, and even Harry Potter. For the mums, you can even have a pampering day out package so that you can join in the fun.

Pro tip: Let your child have a look at the large list of themes that the venue has so they can have the party of their dreams!

Adelaide Zoo

For kids aged 3 and above

Website: https://www.adelaidezoo.com.au/
Address: Frome Rd, Adelaide SA 5000, Australia
Contact details: +61 8 8267 3255
Operating hours: Monday to Sunday – 9:30 AM-5 PM

Adelaide Zoo is always a great choice for all age ranges, especially children. It’s highly accessible, it’s filled with local and exotic animals, and there’s a playground here too!

The main attraction is the panda duo Wang Wang and Fu Ni. If you happen to catch them outside (as they sometimes rest during the day), take the chance to take a photo or two.

For a birthday party, I highly suggest booking their Panda Picnics package which provides you all-day access to the zoo, food and drinks (sandwiches, nuggets, chocolate, etc.), and a tour of the zoo.

Pro tip: It can get hot inside Adelaide Zoo, so be sure to bring drinks and mini-fans so that your children stay hydrated.
