For dinner, our fave is the smoky and savory 12-hour braised beef with polenta. The briny crispy skin salmon with homemade romesco sauce comes close.

And when it comes to dessert, their white chocolate fondant topped with macadamia crumb is the real deal.

Rosa Mexicano brings the essence of modern Mexican cuisine to Glenelg. The beefy chili con carne with char-grilled jalapenos bursts with flavors that will have you reaching for the resto’s ice-cold margaritas.

They’re also serving fried burritos with a side of Mexican rice, pico de gallo, and chipotle aioli. Additionally, kiddos can go wild with the sour-cream-drenched quesadillas.

And for those who love sweets, don’t miss the Nutella taco and banana and mango empanadas.

It’s hard to say no to Mediterranean chow, especially Mediterranean Ristorante’s char-grilled Moroccan eye filet on a salad bed of smashed avocado, baby spinach, and quinoa.

Their smoky slow-cooked lamb shoulder marinated with rosemary, and oregano is also a banger. We also have to praise their pollo Mediterranean, a bowl where chicken meets apricots in a dance-off of sweet and savory flavors.

And if you have little foodies in tow, their spaghetti Napoletana or chicken nuggets will do the trick.

Check their website for announcements of their daily specials.

Ah, Oyster Bar Holdfast Shores, where the ocean’s bounties get the spotlight. We’re huge fans of their grilled Kilpatrick and Thai oysters with bacon and Worcestershire sauce.

They also have Panko oysters fried to golden perfection (don’t forget to dunk ’em into chipotle mayo). This oyster bar’s garlic prawn twists are worth a shot, too.

But if you’re feeling a bit of everything, their seafood plate is where it’s at. It has beer-battered barramundi, SA whole king prawns, natural oysters, and more.

You can also experiment with the oyster and sauce combos.

The Wharf’s modern Aussie cuisine is right up our alley.

We love their black Angus porterhouse that’s as big as our appetite. It’s 300 grams of juicy meat and rosemary-salted roast potatoes.

If you’re more of a veggie-lover, their vegetarian risotto is no joke, with charred zucchini, olives, and basil oil. And to finish your meal, there’s the mocha brûlée with cappuccino ice cream and dried strawberries.

Luciano’s on the Marina is a pizza party by the sea. We started with their Diavola with mozzarella, fennel soppressa, and a drizzle of honey that’s hotter than a July afternoon in Sicily.

If you’re a classic pizza kind of person, their Margherita is where it’s at. It has fior di latte, passata, and fresh basil.

Now, onto the dolce. The most popular choice here is the iconic tiramisu, a coffee-infused treat with savoiardi biscuits and mascarpone cheese.

If you want something not on the menu, request the chef’s daily special.

You can also not go wrong with the aromatic and sweet risotto pescatore, a seafood fiesta with prawns, calamari, scallops, and mussels.

If you’re a fan of meat, the succulent and savory Fegato alla Veneziana—veal liver cooked with onion, bay leaves, and white wine—should be on top of your chow list.
