Quality of photos. Our priority is to choose studios that have a great portfolio. We mainly examined their editing and styling for different people.

Credentials. The best studios should have photographers who specialize in headshot photography. It’s also best if they have been doing it for many years.

Fairness of fees. We considered how much they charge for sessions and printing considering their skill and equipment.

Pros

  • Great photography direction
  • Can match different style preferences
  • Responsive to inquiries and messages
  • Comprehensive package offered

Cons

  • Fees are high
  • Limited schedules available

Boem Headshots is one of the best for us because they are flexible with different clients. They match your preferred mood, angle, and tone for the photoshoot.

We felt safe in the hands of their photographer because he was direct yet gentle with his direction. He was great with talking to us about our preferences too.

Their headshot package has many inclusions, such as unlimited outfit changes, black and white versions, and up to 150 shots.

We reviewed their portfolio and saw they’re highly flexible with the theme they can provide, from serious and intimate to bright and colorful.

Moreover, they’re very responsive to inquiries and messages sent through their website. Setting an appointment is made more accessible because of this.

However, if there’s anything we don’t like, one is that their fees are pretty high. It makes them less friendly for those on a tight budget.

Aside from this, the demand for them is high. Unfortunately, this means you’ll probably have to wait a couple of weeks for an appointment.

Pros

  • Easy to book mobile photography sessions
  • Straightforward direction
  • Affordable rates
  • Can provide service to many parts of Australia

Cons

  • Rigid style
  • Limited schedules available

The Headshot Creative’s strength lies in how convenient they are to book in-office or outdoor headshots. It makes team headshot sessions easier to plan.

They have a distinct style that leans more towards being assertive. If this sounds like the image you want to convey, they’re an excellent choice for you.

We also appreciate the directions they gave us, as they were straightforward. The team was also on time for the appointment we set.

Even if we had the session at our chosen location, the price was still affordable at $215. This makes them great for those who need a quick headshot photo update.

Moreover, we like how they can serve many parts of Australia, such as Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, and more. This makes it easy to have headshots for companies with multiple branches.

That said, we found their photography too rigid. They’re not the best choice for colorful or upbeat photos.

Aside from this, their schedules are limited compared to other companies. Therefore, it’s best to contact them early to get a slot.

Pros

  • Great for creative headshots
  • Can be booked for an entire day
  • Easy booking process
  • Accessible studio location

Cons

  • A bit pricey
  • Needs to be booked in advance

Loxton Photo is our choice for those who want creative headshots, especially actors. From what we’ve seen in their portfolio, they’re great at creating photos that bring out a specific mood to enhance the actor’s image.

Their photos’ atmospheres range from moody to whimsical, making them compatible with many actors.

They were also great at collaborating with us on our ideas, which is an excellent sign of their experience.

And the best part is that they can be booked for an entire day, which is why we received thorough instructions and directions. Outfit options are also unlimited!

We also found their booking process easy mainly because it can be done through their website. Choosing a date and time is a breeze.

Furthermore, their studio is accessible just a few blocks past Rundle Mall. Once there, you’ll feel at ease because of how well they guide clients, as we found during our session.

That said, they are expensive, as they charge $60 per final image on top of the studio fees.

Another downside is there’s high demand for their service due to their prime location. So be sure to book in advance through their website to get a sure slot.

Pros

  • Affordable
  • Good for black and white photos
  • Great with providing directions
  • Responsive via phone and fast to schedule appointments

Cons

  • Provides limited time for sessions
  • Website is a bit hard to use

Headshots Adelaide has one of the best portfolios for black-and-white photos we’ve seen. They can bring an intimate and serene look that lends itself well to corporate and actor headshots.

Another strength of the studio is the affordable rates they provide. We got 20 minutes of studio time for only $179.

We also like the way they directed us during the photoshoot. They made sure to listen to our requests, and they weren’t very strict with instructions.

They’re great at communicating with clients from start to finish. When we first called them, they were responsive and great at explaining their services.

Moreover, they’re a great choice if you’re in a rush. We were able to get our session just two days after calling.

A possible downside to them, however, is that their sessions are very fast compared to other studios. For their lowest-priced package, you only get 20 minutes of studio time.

Aside from this, a minor downside is that their website isn’t easy to use for online booking. It’ll be better to call them for an appointment instead.

Pros

  • Good for creative and colorful shots
  • Has a unique style
  • Congenial and friendly service
  • Good for marketing shoots too

Cons

  • Limited schedules
  • Pricey

Urban Safari Photography is an excellent choice for colorful and creative shots. Kate, the lead photographer, has an excellent eye for creating striking images, especially for marketing campaigns leaning toward a friendly image.

Her style uses natural lighting mixed with a bright background. This translates to a warm mood for her shots.

We’re especially fond of how she directed us because she encouraged natural smiles. She also made sure to make us feel comfortable.

Because of her friendliness, it’s no wonder that almost half of her customers are referrals from past clients.

Most importantly, she was able to translate our ideas into the final output. It’s a great sign of professionalism and good listening skills.

We especially recommend her if you’re going to be launching a new company or if you want to rebrand. Her marketing shots are some of the best we’ve seen.

That said, her headshot service is quite pricey, starting at $385. So if you’re on a tight budget, it’s better to avail of her “Headshot Days” available only twice a month.

Aside from this, her schedule is always tight and fully booked weeks in advance. So be sure to contact her early to get your desired schedule.
