Pros

  • Established since the 1970s
  • Complete insurance and license
  • Straightforward with communication
  • Easy to coordinate with for certification

Cons

  • A bit slow in completing projects
  • High fees

Magill Demolition & Earthmoving Contractors Pty. Ltd. was established in the 1970s, making them one of the most established construction companies in Adelaide.

What makes them very reliable is that they have complete licensing and insurance. They have up to $10 million of insurance and licenses for asbestos removal, earthworks construction, demolition, and more.

They have great equipment, as their fleet, including the PC220 and bobcats, can do earthwork. It’s compatible with almost any project, both residential and commercial.

We like how straightforward they are with communicating. They don’t require initial deposits too, which lessens the stress on your finances.

On top of that, they’re easy to coordinate with for certification of cellar and swimming pool projects. Even those without much knowledge of construction will have an easy time with them.

Given all of this, we just think that they can improve when it comes to the speed of their projects.

Aside from this, their fees are a bit higher compared to other excavation companies in Adelaide.

Pros

  • Affordable rates
  • More than 40 years of experience
  • Great equipment
  • Has many notable clients

Cons

  • Mostly available for Northern Adelaide and Barossa Valley
  • Sometimes doesn’t follow up with inquiries

Ari’s Excavation is a great choice if you want an affordable choice for earthwork. They’re easy to contact for bobcats, excavators, and tipper trucks.

Their price is flexible depending on the complexity of the project. One of the most used pieces of equipment is their 3.3T Mini Excavator which is industry-standard.

The company has more than 40 years of experience. They’re notable for having a wide range of services including block clearing, trenches, sewers, concrete preparation, and more.

They’ve also handled many notable clients including JM Concrete, Everlong Concrete, Skips 2 U, and Alba View Equestrian.

Plus, they’re easy to coordinate with for both residential and commercial projects. Their notable services include driveway excavation, water tank installation, and tree removal.

That said, one downside is that they’re mostly available to suburbs in Northern Adelaide and Barossa Valley.

Aside from this, some clients complained of not receiving any follow-up messages from them after initial inquiries.

Pros

  • Expertise on hydro excavation
  • Industry-standard equipment
  • Uses nondestructive methods
  • Compatible with various scales of projects

Cons

  • Pricey
  • Not always available due to high demand

Bench Directional Drilling & Civil’s expertise is on hydro excavation. They’ve had many experiences in providing this for many clients.

Their excavation team uses hydro pressure and underground service location to ensure that the process is safe. We like this because it is advanced and effective.

Most of their other methods are also non-intrusive, which makes them great for pipe installations. This includes nondestructive digging and vacuum trenching.

Another highlight of the company is its great equipment that allows them to take on almost all earthwork projects. These include skid steers, backhoes, and rock breakers.

It’s also great how their excavators range from 1.5 to 20 tonnes. This makes them compatible with various project scales.

If we have a concern about them, one is that their fees are quite pricey. This is reasonable given that their equipment is all industry standard.

Aside from this, they may not always be available because there is high demand for their services.

Pros

  • Complete licenses and insurance
  • Responds to emergencies
  • Fleet and equipment is good for residential work
  • Has a wide range of services

Cons

  • Takes some time to finish commercial projects
  • Slow response to emails and calls

Dirt Solutions is recommendable because of their flexibility in meeting both commercial and residential demands. Their equipment can match small residential spaces, which translates to lower costs for clients.

The company has complete licensing and insurance. They have National Construction Code certificates and BLD (building permit) 314769.

In addition, they can respond to emergency requests for anything related to excavations and trenching. It’s made possible by their large fleet and team.

Speaking of fleet and equipment, most of theirs are mini-sized, including mini tippers, excavators, loaders, and dumpers. Because of this, they can visit most suburbs in Adelaide without difficulty.

We also like how they can easily collaborate with other construction companies for paving, decking, and other projects. They supply construction supplies too, which makes them a highly convenient choice.

However, from what we’ve seen, one downside with the company is that they take some time to finish big projects mostly because their equipment is made for residential properties.

Aside from this, they’re not the fastest to respond to emails and calls. This can be a bit of an inconvenience.

Pros

  • Experienced team members
  • Complete licenses and certifications
  • Great equipment
  • Has handled many high-profile projects in Adelaide

Cons

  • High rates
  • Prefers commercial projects

Davison Earthmovers’ strength is in the experience of their team, as every member has had more than 20 years in the construction industry.

This experience is reflected in the breadth of the services they provide, which includes kerbing, pipe installation, drainage systems, and more.

We don’t have any complaints when it comes to licensing and certifications from them. They’ve got everything covered, from ISO qualifications tp environmental standards and workplace safety.

Compared to excavation companies in Adelaide, they have one of the most comprehensive sets of equipment. These include soil stabilizers, backhoes, skid steer loaders, and hi-rail excavators, which is why they can work on the largest projects.

One of their notable projects is with Flinders Medical Centre, which gives you a good idea of the quality of their work. They’ve also been given the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

If there’s a downside to them, one is that their rates are among the highest in Adelaide. This is inevitable given the high quality of their equipment.

In relation to this, they’re not the best choice for residential work, as they may reject calls for these because most of what they do is commercial work.
